There are two types of spools: full spools and mini spools. Each attains the same objective, ensuring both drive wheels on a given axle receive full torque and rotate at the same speed all the time.
This can have a big impact on how well your weed whacker performs. Using the wrong size can result in poor cutting performance and even damage to your equipment. A line that`s too thin may break or wear out quickly, while a line that`s too thick may put too much strain on your engine or cause other issues.
Some models are designed for specific string trimmer brands; however, there are universal attachments that will fit various makes and models of attachment-capable string trimmers.
For the greatest durability, round string is the standard. Combining more material with less surface area, it has a longer wear time. Round string made of reinforced nylon or non-nylon polymer, or string with a hardened core material, will provide greater durability than basic nylon.

There are different kinds of string trimmer heads, and they can make or break your yard work experience. You might come across some models where the trimmer head has a trademarked brand name that reflects its new technical innovations.
Not all strimmer heads are the same size, and there`s a lot of variety on the market.

Weedeater starts fine but the string head will not spin. I removed the string head, and the shaft it connects to is not spinning either.
ANSWER : The shaft cable has either come loose at the head, or is broken at the engine most likely. Is this a 2 piece unit? If so, see if the cable turns with the grass trimmer section removed. If so, it is usually easiest to just replace the trimmer shaft section. One piece units require disassembly at the engine, and if you are not mechanically inclined, that can be a pain.
