Craftsman

I have an old Craftsman 22 inch, 6.75 hp walk behind weedtrimmer. It will not start, when I pull the cord sometimes it feels tight other times it feels normal. The spark plug looks good, it has plenty of gas, oil is fine. I need some help. I am not sure what model this is, can someone tell me where to find the model number on this?
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :

I DON’T BAVE MY BRIGGS AND STRATTON BOOK HERE WITH ME BUT YOU MAY HAVE TO CLEAN THE PAINT AND RUST OFF THE HOUSING TO SEE NUMBERS. HOPE THIS HELPS

Generally, you can identify a Craftsman tool by the logo or the name that`s printed/embossed into the tools themselves. Craftsman as a brand hasn`t changed its name since Sears & Roebuck introduced it in 1927, so each tool should bear either the name or logo (usually somewhere on the handle).
Craftsman: Sears acquired the Craftsman trademark and sold its first Craftsman tools in 1927.
Yes, Craftsman and DeWalt are Owned by Stanley Black & Decker. Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) turned heads when it bought Craftsman Tools in 2017 after Sears closed 235 stores in 2015. To Determine Manufacture Date Based on Serial Number: The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2nd & 3rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture. Please see the detailed explanation and examples provided below.
The first lawn mowers were manual reel mowers, also known as cylinder mowers. All a person had to do was push one across the lawn, and the wheels would spin a cylinder of sharpened, grass-cutting blades.
Your Mower Won`t Start:

Old gas can also lead to problems starting. If you have last season`s gas in your mower, drain your fuel tank and fill with fresh gas. Other possible causes include: Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten.

You can expect to get anywhere from six to ten years out of your riding mower, or longer with proper care and maintenance. Like most machines, riding lawn mower life varies depending on a number of factors including terrain, maintenance and upkeep, number of hours used, and more.
The Model, Type and Code numbers, stamped directly into the engine, are used to identify our engines. Engines used in lawn mower applications usually have the model numbers stamped directly into the blower housing, muffler heat shield, or a few inches above the spark plug.

Craftsman tools aren`t the most expensive tools on the market, but they`re not the cheapest either. Therefore, if you`re not going to use your tools frequently, consider going with a cheaper brand.

An International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is an eight-digit serial number used to uniquely identify a serial publication, such as a magazine. The ISSN is especially helpful in distinguishing between serials with the same title.
Serial Number Location:

The serial number is the 12 digit alphanumeric code after SN: just below a barcode. TIP: Any “0” in the serial number is a zero; there are never any O`s or o`s. On older signs, the serial number is the alphanumeric number on the very bottom of the label and may have less than 12 digits.

Most of the time, you can find the Craftsman model and serial number on the top of the mower. If you were standing behind it and using it, the identification tag would be on the top rear portion of the deck, between the wheels.
