Air filter

Once blocked with dust and debris, it cannot supply the required amount of oxygen to your trimmer` engine resulting in power loss. Find the air filter, take out this component, clean and reassemble it. Replace the part if you cannot reuse it. Follow this step regularly to avoid any problems in the future.

If your trimmer engine idles, but stalls on throttle, check the following parts: the gasket, primer bulb, fuel filter, air filter, fuel vent, fuel line, and carburetor. The repair and symptom guide will help you better identify the part needed to be replaced and how.
When your trimmer starts and runs on choke, it could be because the check valve in the gas cap is clogged. Start the trimmer and gently unscrew the gas cap halfway off. Turn the choke off and assess. If the engine is still running, that means the gas cap may be the culprit.
If your 2-stroke brushcutter fails to start, the simplest explanation is that there is not enough fuel: in this case you simply need to top it up. A 2-stroke brushcutter engine runs on fuel/oil mixture, which you can buy ready prepared, such as EFCO-Mix Alkilate alkylated mixture in a 5 L can.
If the engine is running fast (revving high):

Make sure that the choke is disengaged and the throttle hold has been reset by pressing the trigger. You can check the throttle cable to make sure there are no kinks found in it – however this requires a mechanical proficiency to strip down the machine uncovering the cable.

Here are two of the most common questions we get asked from skid steer owners looking for their first brush cutter: Do I need high-flow hydraulics on my skid steer to run a brush cutter? The answer is no, you do not.
The most likely culprit is a dirty or clogged air filter. Issues with your fuel pump or fuel filter can also cause your engine to idle then die with any throttle. If you have an older car, it could also be a bad carburetor.
If the line is too thick or too thin it can continuously feed the line. Make sure you are using the correct line thickness rated for your machine. The spool houses the line for the trimmer and has the line wound around it. It is located inside the trimmer head.

Will only develop power (and run somewhat properly) when the choke is engaged about 90%. Starts fine.
ANSWER : Sounds to me as tho you may have a loose carburetor or another part that is letting air into the system. Check all bolts and screws for tightness. Also, you may need to clean the carburetor or put some cleaner in your gas. Not too much, only about a tablespoon, but check the screws/bolts first.

I bought a new echp pb-251 blower last year. towards the end of last season the blower seemed to run sluggish. I attributed it to the cold weather and stored it properly with fuel stabilizer. Now here in Texas our lawn equiptment really doesnt stay put up for very long, and i use my leaf blower to round up my leaves during the winter. — Long story short, I had a problem with power and replaced the spark plug and air filter with no good results. I took the blower back to Home Depot and they charged me to have someone look at it. It was returned running fine with “carbureator adjustment screw out of adjustment as the Problem found”. Now it is two weeks later and after only using the blower one time i am having the same problem again. it starts and runs but has no power when you pull the trigger. Where is the adjustment screw on the pb-251 so that i do not have to turn it in to get charged for something that should work again. Echo I love your products I have bought three weedeaters from you and three blowers ….very dissapointed in this one.
ANSWER : Hi, there is a wire screen in the exhaust outlet that blocks up with carbon deposits. It can be removed and cleaned with a wire brush. If blocked it will give you the problem you have and also make the blower quieter than it should be. Regards Phil.

My blower only runs with 3/4 choke even after warm up.
ANSWER : Look on the carb for 2 screws side by side. where those screws go into the carb, it will be stamped with an “H” and “L”. Open the screw that is next to the “H”, counterclockwise about 1/4 turn at a time with the engine running, that should solve it.
