What could be keeping it from running?
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Were I you I would assume that someone let it sit with gas in it for a summer and the gas in it turned into a shellac which has totally gummed up the carburetor. So what I would do is get a rebuild kit for the carb at a small engine shop, tear it down completely clean it and put it back together. Assuming it then runs I would make an effort to dump some Sta-bil in the gas tank at the end of each season before it goes into 3 season slumber. Just because there is fresh gas in the tank or bowl does not mean it is getting into the air/fuel mixture system.

Although the engine stalls, some fuel lingers then evaporates leaving bad stuff behind — especially if the gasoline contains ethanol. The only thing worse is leaving old gasoline in the machine. It will create gum and varnish. The carburetor will most likely have to be disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt.
Drain the Fuel
Even if the gas has been stabilized, we recommend completely draining your snow blower`s fuel system before storing it away for the season. Gas oxidizes and breaks down over time, creating sludge that can build up inside your snow blower`s fuel tank, carburetor and fuel lines.
If there`s a difference in track tension between the left and right snow blower tracks, your unit could pull to one side when driving.

I have a new echo PB250 Leaf blower and it will not keep running. It starts fine but shuts off after a few seconds.
Sounds like a dirty carb, dissamble it and rinse good with carb clean, be careful when taking the top off it that you get it back together the same spray the white center good and all little holes good. then reassemble, also try to loosen your gas cap maybe first before cleaning carb, you might have a plugged vent in the line coming out of the tank. Good Luck
Snow blower threw oil everywhere and will not move. Engine starts but does not move forward.
The gearbox for the drive has sheared a tooth off the gear to make it leak and not propel the wheels. it has cut into the seal making it leak
My blower only runs with 3/4 choke even after warm up.
Look on the carb for 2 screws side by side. where those screws go into the carb, it will be stamped with an “H” and “L”. Open the screw that is next to the “H”, counterclockwise about 1/4 turn at a time with the engine running, that should solve it.
Auger does not engage on Ariens Model 924121 sno- Thro
First check shear pins in the auger ( try to turn big auger by hand, engine off)
then if they are good then try to turn impeller by hand, engine off
youll need to turn it a few times before the larger ones turn, but thats what you want
if they dont turn then you have sheared the gear box gears
be sure belts are good tooo
How much oil does the snow blower hold
Echo pb500 only runs with choke open – Echo Gas Blower 162 MPH 450 CFM Blower PB500T
I’m not to sure about the question. But you say it runs with the chock open. Your engine will only run with the chock open. Can you clarify?
Seems to start easily run for a few minutes and then slow and stop–bulb remains full –gas is good–have tried half choke in case too lean–did not solve–also seems possibly related to the angle I hold it at–seems to cut out quicker if blower tube angled more downward.
Your filter may be hanging up in the tank. you also my be losing compression
Snow blower gets bogged down in snow.
It sounds like your engine is running lean, see if you can adjust the high throttle mixture on the carburetor (if possible at all). If there is no adjustment possible, it may be the carb is clogged and needs some service. Try cleaning it or find a new replacement carb for it.
