the engine running I engage the clutch and the wheels grab as soon as the cable engages (tightens). I have tilted the blower onto the attachment removed the bottom plate and watched the cable move the friction disk to lock the wheels. However, when I tilt it back, the wheels do not engage with motor started. Should my traction idler belt move when I engage the clutch? Right now it does not. It has tension and attached to the spring, but it doesn’t move.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Check the clutch cable to determine if it is broken. If the clutch cable is broken, replace it. If the clutch cable is not broken, make sure that it is connected properly between the handle lever and the clutch assembly. Finally, ensure that the cable has the proper tension, and adjust the cable if necessary.
The traction control cable might be broken or misadjusted. Check the traction control cable to determine if it moves freely. If the control cable does not move freely, try squirting a small amount of oil into the end of the cable to lubricate it. If lubricating the traction control cable is not effective, replace it.
A clutch that won`t engage at all means there is serious damage somewhere. Check for a bent linkage, a seized slave cylinder, or a seized throw-out bearing. Beyond those, check for binding in the linkage, a corroded cable, or a failed friction plate.
If the compressor clutch doesn`t engage; that usually means, there`s an electrical or mechanical problem with the compressor. If the AC is not blowing cool air into the car, you may want to do a visual inspection of the AC compressor clutch and determine if you can see what might be causing the clutch to not engage.
Drive Belt Tension Adjustment. Belt tension is adjusted by moving the drive motor position (forward or rearward) in an iterative process until the belt tension meets specification. Remove the drive belt. It is recommended that you walk the belt off the smaller drive motor pulley.

Wont engage and move forward – Ariens 220133240732483 Rubber Drive Disc Plate 4"dia
ANSWER : Hello, The friction disc is the thing to look at. Tip the snow blower onto the front. remove the angled cover to inspect the disc. It is easy to remove and inexpensive to replace. This could need replaceing once a year, or might last for over 10 years, it is dependant on your use. The only other reason you might have for not moving is the wheels are not pinned or the drive belt is off or broken.

Hope this was helpfull.
