How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
1/4-inch diameter hoses are the most commonly used for residential-use or consumer-grade pressure washers, both electric and gas-powered.
2,000 – 2,900 PSI: This is a moderate strength unit used heavier residential tasks. These units are commonly sold as either electric or gas pressure washers. 3,000 – 6,900 PSI: These high pressure models are what professional pressure washers and contractors usually use.
The quick answer is yes, you can
However, there are several things to consider before using your pressure washer with a garden hose. For one, consider the diameter of your garden hose.
When using a portable pressure washer, there is no need for any more than 100 feet of hose. With proper set up of the portable machine, you can easily get 200 feet of coverage because you are using two different hoses collectively. You could easily add an additional 50 foot spare hose for larger projects.
Large (3/8”) hoses are designed for all professional models and some prosumer-grade gas pressure washers. These hoses can withstand serious water pressure up to 10,000 psi. Plus, they`re thicker to allow greater water volume (more gallons-per-minute).

Soap feed The soap feed hose on my Karcher 2650 does not suck up the soap into the washer. I pulled off the connector piece that the hose is connected to. I can blow through the hose. There is a little metal finger thing that you can tell pushes up into place when the water pressure is high. It seems like it is supposed to drop down and allow some soap through when the water is running. I found a loose(attached to nothing) gasket, looks like a little donut. It was just free floating in there. I’m thinking it may go over the finger mechanism. I just put it back on top of the finger, like a halo and put the screw in piece back in. Anyway, if you know, let me know how all that goes together.
I fixed mine works good too, watch my video step by step i put it on youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFXSLOBL0Mg
There is water squirting out of a hole next the pressure hose connection. Is there a missing screw? Or an adjustment to the washer that can be made. There is no pressure because of this leak.
If this hole has threads then it might be the soap inlet. If water is shooting out under pressure you may have an obstruction in the hose/handle. Try removing the hose and running the washer and see if the water flows out the connection. If the hose ends up being the problem a visual inspection and cleaning of all inlets and the handle should clear it.
If the water coming out of the hole is low/tap line pressure then I think your bypass *(or unloader) valve is stuck in the bypass position.
A stuck unloader just needs to be unstuck and lightly cleaned. A light coating of silicon grease wouldnt hurt either!
Get the manual for this pump and see how to open/remove the unloader valve.
NO PSI brand new north star 1573021c elec psi washer. no psi out of the box,, using correct nozzle, motor runs, good incoming water psi and volume. ??????????
Have you checked to make sure that keyway is installed between electric motor and pump. also adjustment on unloader valve may be incorrect. If the big brass nut on the unloader is able to be turned by hand, then this is probably your problem (running pressure and spike pressure needs to be set and locked down using a pressure guage). does water come out of nozzle at all? if not, tip being stopped up may be the problem. trash between unloader ball and seat can also cause no pressure (usually caused by a burr left inside brass pieces during the manufacturing process). I have seen all the check valves stuck on a brand new unit from sitting on the shelf for so long, but this is usually the case with General Pumps.
Need help in getting Honda engine on NorthStar pressure washer to run.
Could be low water pressure I have found. Also, I purchased a can of “stuff” at Lowes today which allows you to circulate a liquid substance which lubricates the pressure pump….the pump could be frozen up…I have a rotating nozzle which I bought…and it had frozen up…this stuff works
1750 psi Electric Pressure Washer: My pressure washer is losing pressure and is pulsa…
If the pressure washer is pulsating then that is a sign of check valve failure. You may be able to clean of replace the check valves. Replacing the head is the wrong way to go. This is completely unnecessary. If you can tell me the model number of your pressure washer then I can assist you better in pointing you in the right direction.
Have pressure when first pull triger than pressure fads
Check the valves inside for sticking
The garden hose was used to siphon water from a dirty pool. The hose was connected to the pressure washer without cleaning out the hose and turned on. After a few minutes he couldn’t get pressure from the unit. Water does flow from the hose but it wont build up pressure.
Hello, check the hose connection on the pump. There is generally a screen there to prevent dirt from entering the pump. Clean off this screen and all should be well.
Unloader valve broke off and in need of replacement
