I have the same problem. It will run if I put it halfway between Half Choke and Full Choke. But, just dies if I put it on Run or Half Choke. Don’t ever loan your WE to anyone, They might just try to run it on straight gas–That is what happened on another week eater that I had.

Starts right up on choke. then run inrun position for a minute and have to go back to choke to keep it running ,then it runs fine for a couple of minutes and have to go back to choke and start all over again.
ANSWER : This happens with the cover off, so not the filter.

Ryobi weed eater runs at full choke, but stalls when choke is turned to run position
ANSWER : Does it blow out alot of blue or dark exhaust? if so adjust screw on carberator as it maybe be running rich, if this doesnt work have the switch checked for malfunctioning

ANSWER : Have you checked just the plug wire for spark. If you’re not getting any here, then you may have a bad magnet-or. So if the spark is happening only at the wire and not through the plug. Change the plug. Also check the cut off switch. It could cause the no spark, to keep it from starting.

ANSWER : Make sure the gap on the plug isnot to wide other wise u will not get any spark or just a weak spark

ANSWER : You need to adjust the carb ,look for small screws around carb turn out 1/4 to 1/2 turn good luck
