Look at the link “Engine Assembly” print. If your saw has multiple pieces like shown there is an additional internal screw. If not the only thing that comes to mind is remove the engine cover.

Chainsaw manufacturers include a spark arrestor on every model to prevent combustion byproducts from escaping the combustion chamber during saw operation and starting a fire. The arrestor is a screen that fits behind the muffler.

Spark arrestors are screens that limit the size of particles sometimes found in the exhaust gases of outdoor power equipment.
CHAINSAW FIRE SAFETY:
Keep a fire extinguisher and shovel readily available at all times. Install and maintain an effectively working spark arrestor. Allow a hot saw to cool down before refueling.

ANSWER : Try diss connecting the earth cut out wire from the ignition unit and try for a spark again, this will rule out the switch and any trapped wires, re set the air gap between the unit and the flywheel to 0.3mm, if there is still no spark the unit is bad and will require replacment, they are normally only held on with a couple of allen screws, and either bolted to the cylinder or the crankcase.

My poulan pro 42cc will not start i get sparks from spark plug,but when i put the plug back in i get nothing
ANSWER : If you have spark and compression it must not be getting fuel.
Put a little mix directly into the carburetor and try to start it. If it pops and doesn’t continue to run look at your fuel lines. I think you have a cracked hose. HTH

ANSWER : Yep they swell after a while and will not screw in or out!
Sand the threads down so that the circumference is reduced with a course file or plumbers cloth, chamfer the threads a bit on the edges. A new one will do the same thing after a while so just fix the one you have.

What is the air gap for Poulan pro BVM 200 blower. I am not getting any spark with a new coil.

ANSWER : .010 make sure its not on backwards some have an arrow molded on them to show wich way flywheel turns and make sure grounw wire is not pinched against metal that will shot the coil hope this helps
