the gas for the movers to move it. I but gas back in it but it won’t start. It just makes a repeating clicking noise when I turn the key. The tractor started up great before I drained the gas. Any advice?

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

The average residential mower is used for 1-2 hours per mow with 35 cuts per year. Based on that usage, a lower-quality line of residential mowers is expected to last 450-500 hours, while a John Deere residential lawn mower will last around 1,000-1,500 hours.
Failure of any mechanical component, a broken hose, or clogged filter will cause tractor hydrostatic transmission problems. But the most common issue will be the oil itself. In the transmission section of your operator`s manual, you`ll find a section that covers oil viscosity.
Tractor`s engine power is 80 h.p. (4 cylinders, working volume 4.75 L). Fuel consumption quota is 5,5 l/h. Modern tractor John Deere 8310R has been producing since 2011.
A general rule of thumb is that 2,000 to 2,500 hours is well broken-in while anything above 35,000 hours is considered high.
Hydrostatic transmissions offer the ultimate in tractor control, but are expensive to buy and operate. Hydrostatic transmissions make turning and maneuvering a mower much easier.
Most riding mowers last between 500-700 hours, although some can run for as much as 1,000 hours if cared for and maintained properly.
Because of the more work that a single-cylinder engine does, lawnmower engines can last for 500 to 750 hours. Larger engines can last longer if kept in good working order, with the potential to last 1000 to 1500 hours. The life expectancy of a lawnmower varies greatly depending on the brand and type.
That is a lot. If you figure normal 40 hour week is 2040 hours a year. Then that mower has basically run nonstop for nearly a year of its life. Considering the average time to mow a lawn at about 1/2 hour, that machine has started and stopped 4,000 times.

HAVE A JOHN DEERE 318 LAWN TRACTOR, CHANGED POINTS AND CONDENSER, WON’T TURN OVER, TRIED STARTING FLUID IN CARB AND NOTHING. CAN IT BE THE COIL AND HOW DO I CHECK? THANKS
ANSWER : Check the coil impedance on the primary and secondary side. You’ll have to disconnect the battery negative cable so you don’t short something out. Unplug the spark plug wires and the two sets of smaller wires connected to the primary side of the coil. The primary coil reading should be between 3.7 ohms and 4.6 ohms while the secondary (spark plug side) should be between 34.2 k-ohms and 41.6 k-ohms. If the resistance values you measure are outside of these ranges, you need to replace the coil.
