This engine model requires a 25 thousandths of an inch gap.
E10 can be used in all current Husqvarna equipment, however, we recommend using at least 89-octane E10 gasoline, which is the mid-grade between regular and premium gasoline.
Correct Gap
The gap between the spark plug`s center electrode and outer electrode should be set at 0.02 inch, or 0.5 millimeter, for most Husqvarna trimmer models. On some newer models, the company recommends a slightly larger gap of 0.024 inch, or 0.6 millimeter.
The gap setting is different for each vehicle but most are somewhere between 0.028″ and . 060″. Consult the owner`s manual or Champion ® catalog to find the recommended setting for the vehicle you`re working on.
The distance between the tip of the spark plug and the central electrode is called the “spark plug gap” and is a key factor in the function of a spark plug. Spark plug gaps for car engines are typically 0.6 to 1.8 mm (0.024 to 0.071 in).
Husqvarna two stroke engines are designed to run on clean, fresh, unleaded petrol. A fuel / oil ratio of 50:1 is recommended for all Husqvarna 2-stroke products.
Husqvarna two-stroke engines require a two-stroke oil that`s designed and formulated for high performance, air-cooled two-stroke engines.
Excellent Leaf Blower
The Husqvarna 125BVx is a very powerful blower, both with and without the flared nozzle (the nozzle is used to concentrate the airflow for higher air speeds). During my tests, it blew a variety of lawn debris with ease thanks to its 170 mph/425 cfm motor / fan combo.
If your manufacturer recommends a 50:1 fuel/oil mix, it means you need 50 parts of gas to one part two-stroke oil. To mix one gallon of fuel at 50:1, add 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil to one gallon of gas, as shown in the chart below.
Two spark plugs ignite the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber, which breathes through large intake and exhaust valves (four in total).
A: This spark plug should have a gap set to 0.02 inches.
However, if the spark plug gap is too large, the spark is unlikely to consistently “jump” across the long distance between electrodes, thus leading to a rough-running engine or one that doesn`t run at all.
A smaller gap will yield a short, intense spark and will usually make the engine real responsive. A wide gap creates a longer spark arc but without sufficient “juice” from your ignition system, (including amps), it can be weak and yellow in color.
A spark plug that is too short will cause your engine to buck. The spark won`t ignite your fuel correctly and can cause poor gas mileage, plus prompt your check engine lights.
Many automakers recommend you replace the spark plugs in your vehicle around every 100,000 kilometers.
