DPD3100 Gas Pressure Washer
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Take the hose off the gun and see if water comes out. If so the gun has to be taken apart and cleaned. Also where the water hose goes in to the machine there is a screen filter which you might have to clean if water is not comming out on the gun side. Use a screwdriver and pry it out carefully around the edges Clean the screen with a wire brush and put it back in and try it.
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
If your pressure washer starts and runs fine, but there`s no pressure or no water coming from the pump, it could be a clogged wand, hose or inlet filter. Fortunately, this is an easy pressure washer problem to repair. Begin isolating the problem by hooking a water hose to the washer`s inlet and turning it on.
No water jet from the nozzle of the pressure washer > check if the nozzle itself is not clogged – if this is the case, clean or replace it. Also check if the water mains tap is correctly opened and that there is no problem in the flow of the suction hose.
Over time, this coupling (and the seal inside of it) can wear or break. If your power washer leaks water from the connection between the hose and inlet, the seal and possibly the coupling on the inlet are likely broken and will need to be replaced. This seal and coupling should be fairly easy to remove and replace.
If there`s a low/no consistent stream of water:
The line needs to be “primed” before each initial use. Check the nozzle is clear. Use the supplied cleaning tool to check and clean the nozzle.
In general, most pressure washers can draw water from any source like a water tank with a minimum of PSI of 20 to work properly. Some pressure washers can also work fine even with lower pressure since most have built-in pumps that push the water out of the nozzle with high pressure.
A washing machine not draining can have multiple causes, including a clogged or jammed drain hose or a broken pump, lid switch, or belt. No matter the culprit, you need to drain the water from the washing machine before diagnosing the issue or doing any work to remedy the situation.
Using an old, worn-out nozzle is a common cause of lost pressure, and also has one of the simplest fixes. All you need to do is replace the nozzle and make sure you`re using the proper size. Don`t go by the color of the nozzle, make sure you check the orifice size.
Pressure washer hoses are not universal. They come in different diameters, lengths, and materials. So, choosing just any hose to replace your current hose won`t work. You`ll either end up with a hose that doesn`t match the performance you`ve come to expect, or you won`t be able to connect the hose to your unit at all.
Usually, leaks at the top of the hose are caused by a deteriorating washer. Before using a new hose, locate the washer and make sure it`s properly inserted into the coupling. Inspect the washer when you take your hose out of storage or put it into storage each season. Check the washers on your hose accessories, too.
The number one cause of low or no pressure when using a pressure washer is a blocked or worn nozzle. Blocked nozzles will prevent water from escaping, while a worn nozzle will allow too much water to pass through, causing the pressure to drop.
A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the pressure washer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to run stall.
Adjust your tank`s pressure switch:
Test your water pressure with a pressure gauge. If the reading is below 40 psi, then adjust the pressure tank switch to raise your water pressure. Locate the pressure switch on the pipe that connects your well to your storage tank and modify the pressure accordingly.
Relationship Between Pressure & Tank Size
Pressure and tank size have a direct correlation – as one increases, so does the other. The higher the pressure setting, the less the drawdown is and thus, the need for larger tank capacity.

Low pressure I have dewalt 3800 pressure washer and it went from working fine to a bit more pressure than a garden hose. The screen is clear at the water intake witch leads me to think it’s the cat pump, but how do i know.
ANSWER : Hi
some valves at cat pumps need a 100 psi pressure to open and close correct.
when there is air in the pump the valves wil not open and close till air is bleeded.
take of highpressure hose, open watertap and bleed pump till no more air comes out.
reconnect all hoses and try again.
if there is no more air in the pump and its still not working, i should think its the pump.
How do you bypass the cut off switch – Dewalt 3800 PSI Pressure Washer
ANSWER : Connect the white and black wire together
My soap will not come out of the hose. What do i
ANSWER : Several things to check, soap only works with low pressure tip installed, are you using correct tip? second issue is on bottom of soap tanks some have a small valve , is it open? is the tube blocked with dry soap or contamination, flusk it with water to be sure.
I have a Comet BXD 2525 G pressure washer pump which is giving me some problem. (Maybe) I hook the water up to pump and the pressure hose up to the pump, turn on the water and the water sprays out of the water connection at the pump. I check the hose to see if it was clog ok and the next was a the water connection ok. It’s like the water is not going int the pump. When i start the pressure up the water come out of gun but no pump running like it should. The next thing i was going to look at is the unloader because this has to do with water pressure but i wanted to ask you first. Check oil and it is clean no silver in oil like worn parts. The pump was working fine did a wall stop working after that. No noise or any problem I also thought maybe something could be stuck like a valve on the pump. could you please return this e-mail thank you
ANSWER : The water inlet needs a gasket like all hose connections. If its gone the pump may be starving for water.
I have a pressure booster pump installed which turns on automatically when we open the tap and turns off by itself when we close the tap, but when power goes and comes back(common in india), the pump will turn on even with no tap opened and does not turn off automatically and goes on running, some kind of airlock problem I think, when we just shut off and on water input several times, it again starts working well
ANSWER : Check to see if the output pipe has water in it when the pump swutches off the pump needs to be primed at all time what we normally find cases like this is the pump is higher than the supply or there is an air pocket on the output where the pressure sensor is
Had the Northstar 3000 psi Pressure Washer for 2 months and it started leaking oil from the pump during use. Took it to Northern and they are replacing the pump under warranty but said it was likely because I was using quick connects on my garden hose coupling and that was restricting the water flow making the pump overheat. They said never to use quick connects on the garden hose unless the opening is at least 5/8″. Does anyone make such a quick connect? I hate having to screw the garden hose on every time, and also having to remove my quick connects at the water spigot end. Thanks.
ANSWER : It is easy to check if your hose and quick connects are supplying enough water to the pump. Your pressure washer gallon per minuite requirements are printed on the machine and also on the pressure tips in GPM. Your post indicates 2.5 gpm but check your documentation of GPM. Next remove the tip from the wand and connect your hose with current quick connects to the machine. Start engine and direct the pressure wand into a bucket for exactly one minute. Measure the amount of water in the bucket, it should be very close to stated gallons. Do the same test with tip installed and compare measurement. If pump is starving for water you will not get proper amount of water in the bucket and the water hose will collapse. Two to four gallons of water per minute is not very demanding and should be delivered even with very small opening. You can even just direct the hose into the bucket for one minute and check how much water your hose is capable of delivering. I believe that you will find no problem with water delivery to pump. I would certainly enlighten Northern with your findings and question their evaluation. When you start using your pressure washer again try using it at lowest pressure to get the job done. Lowering the pressure to about 75% of max will increase the life of the pump and engine. Good luck with you pump
