I have a Crafstman Riding mower model #917.273643. That ran fine one second, I shut it off for five minutes. When I went to start it back up it wouldn’t start. Cranks fine, checked the wires, fuse, and spark plug. The plug was dirty so I cleaned it. But I am not getting any spark. I bought a new plug still no spark. I also checked the plug on another motor and I had spark so the plug wasn’t bad. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this or what may be wrong?

I have a craftsman LT1000 and it will run for about 20 min and die like it isn’t getting gas,but it start right back up and die in 1 or 2 min.i changed coil,air filter fuel filter and seat switch,and solenoid.
ANSWER : Try cleaning your gas cap vent. It sounds like it may be partially plugged. If it is plugged, the engine will eventually stall.

I have a craftsman 25 hp 42 deck with brigs engine. When I turn the key somtimes it turns over very slow and most times turns over very fast. I have rplaced the battery and still the same issue. Could it be starter problems,or coil problems?
