The paint is too thick try thinning out the paint would be one possibillity clogged tip/filter. Also what happens sometimes is when using latex it drys fast so sometimes it starts gumming up the springs so it doesnt allow the trigger to close up all the way. How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If your paint gun is not spraying paint at all, it`s most likely due to a clog either in the air vent hole or the hose. Clean any dried paint with a toothpick, and use a cleaning solvent to clear any remaining gunk. If you`ve cleaned your paint gun and find that it still isn`t spraying, take a look at the air supply.
DON`T SPRAY TOO CLOSE & KEEP IT THIN

Most paint can instructions suggest spraying 10-12 inches from the object. The reasoning for this is because the further your can is from the object, the thinner your coat of paint will be. A thin coat of paint is much less likely to drip than a thick one so keep your distance.

If this is the issue you experience the most likely cause is that the transducer is worn out. The transducer signals to the airless pump that pressure is needed and signals to run the pump to build pressure. Failure to build pressure often indicates that you need to replace the transducer.
If the spray gun is dripping just after you have finished painting this is most commonly caused due to wear or damage of your fluid nozzle and fluid needle.
The most common cause of pressure feed lines sputtering is a variation in tank pressure because paint has migrated into the pressure pot regulator or plugged the passage below the regulator. Sometimes the cleaning of the passage or regulator is all that is necessary to fix the problem.
Paint drips are usually caused by applying too much paint to your project in a single coat, typically from an overloaded paintbrush or roller. Gravity causes the excess paint to run, and as it begins to dry, the paint congeals in visible drips.
If you choose a nozzle too small, your gun may become clogged quickly, making it impossible to use. If you use a nozzle that is too large, you will spray too much paint, which may leave traces, splashes or spills on your surface.
Most AI nozzles perform best at >4 bar (60 psi). Pressure can be used on-the-fly to make minor changes to flow rate while spraying. This is how rate-controllers work to compensate for changes in ground speed and maintain a constant overall rate per planted area.
Look for a minimum of 15 PSI, with some applications, such as clear coat, better-suited to 20 or 25 PSI. HP: For auto painting, a 10 HP compressor will typically suffice. However, higher HP compressors may operate more efficiently and can be used for other tasks.
There are solids and liquids inside the can that need to be mixed properly with the little metal ball that you can hear inside.” Shaking the can too briefly usually results in paint that looks very thin—not the look you want for a successful project.
Causes: Air pressure too high. Material not properly reduced (Suction feed). Gun tip too far from work surface. Gun motion too fast.
Greasing your spray gun is the most important step to keep it in prime working order and minimize maintenance costs and unexpected downtime of your spray foam equipment. In this slide deck we will show you how to grease your gun and which grease you should use.
Cissing. This describes a defect in which freshly applied paint recedes from the surface leaving small craters or bare areas. The usual cause is contamination of the surface, e.g. by grease, oil, wax polish or silicones.
They are caused by improper handling of the spray paint can or sprayer. Beginner mistakes like lingering too long on one spot, stopping your spray on the project, or being too close are all causes of that blotchy spray paint look.
Causes: Fluid nozzle loose, foreign particle or dried paint keeping needle from seating. Remedy: Tighten nozzle or remove and clean nozzle. Problem: Gun is leaking from needle sealing area. Causes: Teflon packing is damaged or missing.
If you run into uneven or blotchy paint, the best thing to do is start over. The first crucial step in getting back on track is to prime the area you`re painting. Once your primer is dry, begin painting—this time knowing that you`ve primed your surface and set your project up for success.
