Radiator cap and water pump. Pressure test the cap and the radiator too. If the pressure drops on the radiator test, you might have a warped head. If the pressure on the cap test isn’t the same as the rating on the cap, replace it. The radiator may have a few tubes plugged if there was a lot of mud in it. Watch the flow in the radiator with the engine running, no cap, t/stat open. if there is a brisk flow there may be a partial blockage . If there is only a trickle, the water pump may not be doing it’s job. Sometimes the pump impeller slips on the shaft reducing flow. The impeller blades can wear down which will reduce flow as well.
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
If your car is still overheating even after you`ve changed the thermostat, you`re likely dealing with an issue with your radiator. It could be clogged, which would restrict the flow of coolant and cause your radiator to overheat.
Your coolant could be overheating because you have an airflow issue, but it could also be overheating if the coolant is old and need replacing. Additionally, coolant can overheat if it is not being effectively pushed through the cooling system.
Car overheats but no leaks have many possible culprits which include a clogged radiator, a faulty thermostat, air trapped in the cooling system inhibiting coolant flow, a bad water pump, malfunctioning cooling fans, plugged hoses, or a broken serpentine belt. A failing head gasket could also be the cause of this issue.
If it gets hot at all times, then it may have a clogged radiator, or more commonly a leaking head gasket. I would perform a block test prior to changing anything else. If that fails the test, then the engine will need to be disassembled and repaired. If it passes, then it may need a radiator.
One way to check for proper coolant circulation is to check the upper and lower radiator hoses. The upper radiator hose should be hot, around 190–200 °F. (The safest and most accurate way to get this temperature reading is with an infrared thermometer.)
A leaky or blown head gasket lets air into the cooling system, which ultimately can cause the coolant to boil. Other symptoms of a failing or blown head gasket include air bubbles in the coolant and foaming around the coolant reservoir or expansion reservoir.
Running an engine without the thermostat can cause the engine to overheat due to the coolant passes through the engine too fast and will not let the coolant absorb the heat from the engine.
Overheating. A dead or dying water pump cannot circulate coolant through your vehicle`s engine and, as such, the engine will overheat. The hotter the engine gets the greater the chance of serious damage, including a cracked engine block and damage to the cylinders, pistons, and head gasket.
Running an engine without the thermostat can cause the engine to overheat due to the coolant passes through the engine too fast and will not let the coolant absorb the heat from the engine.
A thermostat does not always require the coolant to be flushed out and would be an additional charge for parts and labor.

My Allis Chalmers D12 is popping on the #4 Cylinder. New wires ,points, Comp is good.Runs better without #4 hooked up HELP
ANSWER : Could be one of the valves are out of adjustment or one is not seating right or burnt thru in the seat area. Thin valves and or carbon deposits in the chamber can do this. Also could be fuel delivery to much air getting into the manifold in this area.

When setting points on a CA Allis Chalmers Tractor. What should the gap be and do you do it on the lobe or flat service
ANSWER : Set the gap on the high spot on the lob,it should be set at around 50000 or twice the plug gap, this is just a rule of thumb, but changing the timing by turning the distributer will get the engine to max performance after this has been done.
