Snow blower model numbers are located on the backside of the metal base between the left and right rear-wheels. The 11-character model number is printed on the left side of the Product Identification Label and will begin with the letters “CM”.
If the snowblower engine RPMs are surging up and down, check the following parts for damage: springs, gasket, carburetor, and spark plug. We can help fix your problem with our repair guide. Before you work or check on any parts in your snowblower, make sure to unplug the spark plug and empty the fuel tank for safety.
Craftsman (MTD)
For example, if the Date Code is 5240, the first character, 5, identifies the Year. The last 3 digits identify the sequential day within the year, nnn of 365. So, 5240 gives a build date of the 240th day in 1995 or August 28, 1995.
To Determine Manufacture Date Based on Serial Number: The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2nd & 3rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture. Please see the detailed explanation and examples provided below.
The Problem: The Snow Blower Runs Rough
If your gas blower is shaky or jittery when it`s on, there may be a problem with fuel combustion. Check the fuel or spark plugs—each is fairly simple to do. First, drain the fuel from the tank and refill it with fresh gas.
Product Overview. The CRAFTSMAN® SB2650 is powered by a 243cc 4-cycle OHV engine.
This snow blower is powered by a 208cc 4-cycle CRAFTSMAN® engine that features push-button electric start to eliminate pull-starting a cold engine.
Best Answer. The engine will have a alphanumeric casting number on the passenger side (right side) of the block, under the heads. The first letter of the code identifies the decade (C=1960s, D=1970s, E=1980s), the second digit in the code identifies the specific year.
The two letters at the beginning of the serial number tell you the month and year it was made. Where is my model and serial number located? The first letter identifies the month. The second letter is the year.
MTD`s current (1997 and later) model and serial numbers are generally 11 characters in length. A character could be a number, dash or a letter. If 0 represented all numbers and/or dashes and X represented all letters, the model and serial numbers should appear as follows: 00XX000X000.

Have no spark to plugs
ANSWER : Those sensors have no effect on spark. Did you replace the plug, if not remove it hold it against the engine, have someone pull cord, watch for spark. If you have spark then you have a fuel problem. If no spark then after replacing plug, then remove stop wire from magneto side. Pull cord an watch for spark. If no spark then remove housing an flywheel, measure gap between mag an flywheel. Check to make sure magnets are still on flywheel. Call some shop or check a service manual on gap setting. If no spark still you will need to replace the magneto. This is rare an its is more likely a plug that needs replacing. Toro snowblowers are nice machines, this is not a hard fix. Really to tackle this is starting with the plug.
