Cub Cadet

Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
OOO too bad, sorry to hear that.
the cub cadet is more likely to have a rebuild-able transmission so there is some good news.
it could be as simple as adding fluid to the transmission, some have filters to change too.
where did the oil go? fix the seal?
sometime you can add fluid through a bolt hole even if the unit does not have a fill.
i did this on my deere and it was a waste of good fluid; it still don’t work. the job of rebuilding it is more than a new one and that’s more than the mower is worth. i still have it, thinking i will get to it some day. LOL.
i found a guy that figured out that he could put a much bigger transmission in and it will
‘push trees over” and there is even a company that sells the kit.
you can just get the bigger lawn tractor for less money but they call it a fix.
i hope it turns out to be just low oil.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Failure of any mechanical component, a broken hose, or clogged filter will cause tractor hydrostatic transmission problems. But the most common issue will be the oil itself. In the transmission section of your operator`s manual, you`ll find a section that covers oil viscosity.
Your engine has a belt that engages the mowing deck and works with the idle pulleys as well. This belt is also subject to wear, tear and slipping off of pulleys. If this happens, your mower`s engine will remain on but it won`t move. Keep grease and other lubricants off of the engine belt.
One of the disadvantages of hydrostatic drives is that the majority of the oil stays in the loop and doesn`t return to the reservoir for cooling. One way to return some of the oil back to the tank is by using a hot oil shuttle valve.
The reasons why mower is not moving forward or reverse is that the battery is dead, or due to clogged fuel line. Additionally, malfunctioning transmission, or a broken drive belt, also a faulty spark plug, even when friction wheel isn`t in contact with the friction plate, or damaged Tires.
Over time, dirt, debris and other tiny particles can accumulate in the transmission fluid, affecting its fluid properties. This can cause the vehicle to die when you shift into drive or reverse, allow a loss of power, transmission slip, rough shifts or even prevent the vehicle from shifting into gear at all.
Lawn Mower Turns On But Won`t Move

The most common issues include a broken or damaged belt, a clogged discharge chute, a broken or damaged drive cable, or a damaged or clogged transmission. It`s important to inspect these parts and determine which one is the problem before attempting to fix it.

They are filled with the specified pump fluid to match each pump design and then sealed by each manufacturer at their factories. Replacing hydrostatic fluid is normally not necessary, unless the drive system is in need of some other internal service or repair.
Air in the hydraulic fluid makes an alarming banging or knocking noise when it compresses and decompresses, as it circulates through the system. Other symptoms include foaming of the fluid and erratic actuator movement.
Although cavitation is much more common with hydraulic systems, it can also seriously damage hydrostatic transmissions. Caused when gases in the fluid vaporize, it`s characterized by noisy, erratic transmission operation.

Briggs stratton model 100000 sart problem ? – Briggs & Stratton Lawn-Boy Insight Series 21-Inch 190cc 650 Series Gas Powered Engine Variable Speed Self-Propelled Lawn Mower
ANSWER : If you are having problems starting your mower you should check 3 things, air, fuel and spark.Fuel: check to make sure you are full of good quality fuel, try to start the engine several times then take out the spark plug and it should look wet. If its not wet then you aren’t getting fuel into the engine.Air: remove and clean the air filter with clean gasoline if its made of foam. If its made of paper then you should buy a new one from a local auto parts or hardware store.Spark: disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and hold the wire close to the engine block. Try to start the engine and watch for a spark to jump between the end of the wire and the engine block. If it doesn’t then either the wire is bad or the ignition coil is bad.Reply to this solution when you find the problem and I can tell you how to solve it.
