When a propane heater won`t stay lit, often what is happening is that the propane heater may sense that the flame is defective in some way, triggering the propane heater`s safety functions and causing it to shut off. The problem may be a genuine defect or it could be an issue with the sensor.
Answer: A standard 20lb. propane cylinder will provide anywhere from 9 to 15 hours of heat depending on which heat setting you use.
To reset safety tilt switch, unplug the unit from outlet and reposition the unit on a flat, level surface. Push the reset button in then out again on at the tilt switch black box on top of heater. Sometimes the black box might need to be shaken slightly to have the reset ball become level again.
Electric patio heaters can either be hardwired or plugged directly into a standard outlet. This means that they can be portable, like propane heaters, or fixed in a specific location, like natural gas heaters.
Check for debris around the patio heater burner pilot and clean out insects and ensure the area is clean and dry. There may be low fuel pressure, ensure the gas cylinder has sufficient fuel and is turned ON at the regulator. Ensure the regulator is not worn and working OK.
Without the fuel to keep your house warm, the pipes could freeze and burst, leading to costly repairs. pIn addition, the tank itself can be ruined if open air and moisture get inside causing rust.

I have a husqvarna 323L string trimmer. I stored it after running the tank & carb dry for about two years. I fueled it, then started it, & it ran for a minute then died like I turned the switch off. Since it would not restart, I found the fuel filter had broken off the hardened fuel line & it sucked gummy crap out of the tank & into the carb. Failing at cleaning the carb, I finally put a new carb on it & replaced the pump, hoses & filter. It has ran good till this year. I winterized it with stabilizer & left it with a full tank over the winter. The gas in the tank was gone when I got ready to use it this year. I filled the tank with premix, checked for leaks, then started it. It would run fine for about half a tank, start idling poorly (lean) then cutoff & refuse to restart till I refilled the tank. I finally found the tank had cracks & was letting pressure out of the tank & apparently this was causing the carb to lose it’s ability to siphon gas out of the tank. So I replaced the tank which came with new hoses & a filter, which I properly installed to the carb. It cranked right up, but when it runs a half tank, the carb quits sucking gas out of the tank. When I pump to prime the carb, it moves the fuel into the carb, but the pump never gets hard like it does when I prime the carb when the motor is cold. I have to keep refilling the tank, prime, & then it starts & runs until the tank gets about half empty. The new fuel filter is down in the gas tank properly, but It will not run after it shuts off until I refill the tank & prime. I’m baffled. New tank, new hoses, new filter, new carb, & I can find no leaks in the fuel system. It runs strong. The 323L is a two-stroke & it always cranks on the second pull from cold on a full tank. Any ideas?
I bought a Charmglow SRPH02 propane patio heater at a garage sale. Gas tank is full & tank valve is wide open. When control knob is turned to “Ignite” nothing happens. Where do I start to start to troubleshoot operation? Where can I get a manual online? Thanks for any help?

Ignition switch keeps turning over, will not stop trying to start mower
ANSWER : Computers. Try posting elsewhere.
My tractor stalls like it is starved for gas although the gas tank is full. I,ve changed the fuel filter and the gas cap. I’ve cleaned out the gas tank, gas lines, and the carburetor bowl. The problem seems more acute when the gas tank is full or near full. At this time to alleviate the problem, I blow through the gas cap and the fuel filter fills with gas and it runs good again. But as soon as the fuel filter has no more gas, of course, it stalls until I blow on the gas cap. As the tank gets down to about 1/3 full, the engine runs OK. What else could cause this condition?
ANSWER : I had a similar problem with a sears tractor. close to the carbarator is a rectangle box with a rubber hose going to the engine block – remove the hose and spray carb cleaner in the hose wait a few mins and try again – its a vacuum for the carb
Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.
ANSWER : “top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank”
I assume you’re describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.
I have a hard time getting the gas cap to go back on once I have filled the tank. I have tried lining up the notches before turning, I have tried to push it into place before turning the cap. It doesn’t go on straight and is hard to take back off. It only turns so far once I do get it on straight.
ANSWER : Sounds to me like either the cap or the neck it screws onto is warped or malformed. You can try another cap.If I was you I would take it back to the store because that is not normal. My Poulan has a cap that is nice and loose and goes on with ease. It should not be hard to put the gas cap on.
Steelcraft garage door opener opened but will not close. Motor hums but door does not move.
ANSWER : Ensure proper installation. Ensure gears in main control head box are not worn out, The main drive flat gear is plastic in a lot of these openers. Replace main gear unit are rebuild it.
My Z5426 won’t start. When I pull out the choke and turn the key, gas starts leaking out of the exhaust system just before it gets to the muffler. Last time it did start, it ran really rough. So, I turn off the engine and then tried to restart and that’s when I noticed the fuel leak.
ANSWER : Maybe bad fuel, fuel line leaking, flooding of the carburetor, since it did start and ran rough I am assuming that the gas was left set and more then likely this gummed up the carburetor, you will have to clean/rebuild it. If you have a can of carburetor clean you may be able to spray that into there and clean it up, I would not choke it to start it as it sounds like it got/is flooded/ing. Good Luck Tim
