If your blade doesn`t and you weren`t able to reference it to the old blade, look at the cutting edge of the blade. Most lawn mower blades rotate in a clockwise direction (counter-clockwise when viewed from below), and as such have the cutting edge on the right side.
Most, if not all, mowers of this brand have bolts that are threaded in the normal direction, with blades in the reverse thread direction. This means that you`ll have to turn the bolt clockwise to the right to tighten it or turn the bolt counterclockwise to the left to loosen it.
Worn or broken blade drive belt – If the riding mower blades are not spinning, the blade drive belt may be worn or broken and unable to engage the blades. If the belt is intact, inspect it to see if it`s loose or slipping on the pulleys then replace it with a new one if necessary.
This nut is a standard right-handed thread (rotate clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise loosen) and should be tightened to between 70 and 90 foot pounds of torque to fasten securely.

Clockwise to tighten. Remove the spark plug wire before working under there! Use a piece of wood to jam the blade against the housing so it will not turn.

There is a jig that you can buy that makes this job SO much eaiser. It is a universal jig that clamps onto the deck and keeps the blade from spinning so you can use a ratchet to remove the nut holding the blade on. One name brand is called a “Blade Hog”. You should be able to find one of these at one of the bog box hardware stores.
Hope this helps,
What do I need to do to remove the blade adapter assembly for replacement?
You can remove it with a flywheel puller. I would use the one that has the flat hooks at the bottom of the puller. I would also use the blade bolt to push against with the flywheel puller. If you hook the flywheel puller onto the crankshaft there is a possibility that you could damage the threads for the blade bolt.
I hope this helps you out.
