I have installed a Hunter psr22 pump start relay and connected it to a Hunter src irrigation controller and when I cycle the irrigation controller to manual all stations it will not start the pump. There is pump power in to and out of the relay. The pump will start when relay operated manually. There are only two wires from the relay that have been landed on the controller terminals mv and c.
ANSWER : So the mv and c are supplying power to the transformer/relay and out of it, but the pump won’t start until the relay is forced.
I’m thinking the relay contacts are oxidized, and need to be cleaned. When they have oxidation, current goes up, and voltage might appear ok. If any start capacitors are in the circuit, they can be faulty, breaking down under a load, while reading ok. I haven’t heard of any caps in these systems, but just in case.

The best way is to just place a small amount… like 5 lb in the hopper…start with it barely open and see how far you get,,, then compute from there what you need…
The settings they give you are guesamates at best and are often set to place too much… why not??? they are selling you a product!!

Irrigation valve vibrates when opening.
ANSWER : Yes, the diaphram can be dirty or your water pressure can be too high…try installing a ball valve in line and throttle it a bit and see if that helps. The more expensive solution should pressure be your problem is to install a PSR (Pressure Control Valve) at the main source of your irrigation water.
