KNAPSACK SPRAYER (HAND OPERATED)

It has a flat or bean-shaped tank of 10-15 litres capacity., a hydraulic pump fitted inside the tank, a handle to operate the pump, agitator, filter, delivery hose, and spray gun with nozzle and flow control lever. The tank is made of either brass or PVC material.

knapsack sprayer work requires the operator to constantly move the left upper limb (arm) when it activates the tank pressure lever, moving the upper right limb, directing the nozzle by means of the boom sprayer and a constant walk with the sprayer being carried on his back.
Multiply the sprayer capacity by square meterage covered. – For example, if you have a 16L knapsack and you have measured that you have covered 20m2 then you would do 16L (knapsack capacity) x 20m2 (area covered with 1L) = 320m2.
The sprayers essentially consists of a tank which is made of fibre glass or plastic, pump assembly, suction pipe with strainer, pressure gauges pressure regulators, air chamber, delivery pipe, spray boom fitted with nozzles. These are hydraulic energy sprayers.
They attach to a regular garden hose. You add concentrated material to the sprayer jar or bottle, and an adjustment on the bottle determines the amount you deliver. The force of the water through the hose pulls the material up from the bottle, mixing and diluting it with the water.
A knapsack is a type of sprayer that disperses liquid through a hand-held nozzle that is attached to a pressurised reservoir carried on the operators back. Knapsack sprayers can be used to apply liquids such as fertilisers, herbicides and fungicides for example and is suited to spot treating areas.
The main components of a spray bottle include the trigger sprayer, nozzle, dip tube, check valve, and bottle body.
A hydraulic sprayer contains the following components: tank, pump with agitator, pressure gauge, regulating valve, relief valve, control valves, piping and nozzles, power source and support frame.
One Way to Calibrate a Sprayer

Measure the distance in inches between spray nozzles on the boom. Calculate the desired nozzle output (ounces or gallons). Catch one minute`s worth of water from one or two nozzles at the operating pressure. Adjust the pump pressure or ground speed until the desired output is reached.
