Fuel Mixture
This Homelite gas trimmer runs on a 50:1 mix of unleaded automobile gasoline and two-cycle engine oil. That is equivalent to 2.6 fluid ounces (80 ml.) of oil to one gallon of gasoline or 4 tsp. (20 ml.)
The most common fuel/oil mix ratio is 40:1. That means that you need 40 parts of gas to one gallon of oil. The same rule applies to the other two mixtures. If you know that one gallon of oil is equal to 128 oz.
1:25 = 1 part oil + 25 parts petrol, or 40 ml oil per litre of petrol when using other brands of oil.
If you`re working with a Homelite trimmer, you`ll need to get Homelite spool and line. This item, the AC41RL3, is a pre-wound spool of . 065” trimmer line that will let you complete a variety of outdoor jobs. If you need to get to work quickly, this is the kit you need.
Light: 0.065- to 0.080-inch line is best for trimming grass around the house and whacking down common lawn weeds from around driveways, walkways and fences. Medium: 0.080 to 0.110-inch line is best for homes with larger lawns, or gardens overgrown with weeds that have tough, heavy stems. Heavy: 0.110-inch and above.
When your trimmer starts and runs on choke, it could be because the check valve in the gas cap is clogged. Start the trimmer and gently unscrew the gas cap halfway off. Turn the choke off and assess. If the engine is still running, that means the gas cap may be the culprit.
There are a few possible reasons in which a string trimmer will excessively feed line. The incorrect type or size of line may be installed. Check the Operator`s Manual to verify that the correct trimmer line size for the model trimmer in question is being used. The indexing teeth, inside the inner reel, may be worn.
Your strimmer runs off a mix of semi-synthetic 2-stroke oil and unleaded petrol (40:1). Our petrol tools come with a measuring jug with guide lines. Find the side marked 40:1, add your petrol to the first line and your 2-stroke oil to the second. Replace the jugs lid and shake the mixture for around a minute.
Oil mix ratios explained
If your manufacturer recommends a 50:1 fuel/oil mix, it means you need 50 parts of gas to one part two-stroke oil. To mix one gallon of fuel at 50:1, add 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil to one gallon of gas, as shown in the chart below.

How do i fix a rope on the recoil?

Trimmer will only run in choke position
ANSWER : You have a few possibilities. Make sure you have good fresh gas in the tank. You’re not getting enough gas, so choking helps get more gas than air, making it run better. Could be the carb diaphram (not very expensive if you replace yourself), when they get old they don’t perform like they should. Could be the filter in the gas tank is bad, plugged. Also might be just an easy adjustment on the carb Low, and High speed screws. The choke has three positions, full choke, partial choke, and no choke, which means run position.

Homelite UT2680 trimmer fuel line (25cc engine)
ANSWER : You can go to a small engine repair shop, parts shop or look on eBay and they should have the fuel lines you need. Not very expensive, about $1.00/foot for new Tygon lines. You are way overdue for replacing yours. The ethanol in the gas does a job on them.

Does anyone know the carb. setting for a Homelite 45cc chainsaw. Or set up procedure??

CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.
There are 2 wav (sound – idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.
