How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
Zero-turn mowers have separate hydraulic pumps driving the left and right tires, and each side is controlled separately. One tire can be turning forward, while the other is turning in reverse; thus, the mower can pivot around its own center. This feature allows amazing versatility in trimming while mowing.
Hydrostatic transmissions found in most modern tractors and zero-turn mowers, work by transferring power from the engine to hydraulic pumps which use liquid pressure to move the wheels. There`s no need for gears, and changing speed is smooth and efficient.
The smooth operation of a zero-turn mower is mainly due to the use of hydraulic fluid. As a lubricant, it helps keep the mower`s hydraulic system functioning smoothly. Hydraulic oil is critical to the operation of the entire system.
The most common causes of poor hydraulic performance are particulate contamination, water contamination, clogged filters, high fluid temperature and incorrect hydraulic fluids.
To adjust the spool valve, loosen the valve-locking nut on the side. Removing the locking nut gives you access to the adjustment screw. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the pressure, and twist it counter-clockwise to lower the pressure.
Over time and through repeated use, the hydraulic oil in your tools will degrade and become less effective. This is a normal process and happens for a few reasons. The higher the pressure in a hydraulic system the more the oil will compress and degrade. But arguably, the most common reason is because of contamination.
One of the disadvantages of hydrostatic drives is that the majority of the oil stays in the loop and doesn`t return to the reservoir for cooling. One way to return some of the oil back to the tank is by using a hot oil shuttle valve.
Hydrostatic transmissions have often been used with flywheel accumulators. Their main advantage lies in their compactness and high efficiency. Their main disadvantage is the high cost, particularly where high-efficiency units are used.

Battery goes dead over night – Toro 42'' Zero Turn Lawn Mower Trailer Package Deal ()
First thing to do is find out if it’s the battery or the mower. Disconnect the battery and leave it overnight. If it’s dead in the morning, you need a new battery. If not, you either have a charging problem (not likely if the battery isn’t dead after using the mower) or you have a current drain.
