Back Pack Blower Rack Fits Stihl Shindaiwa Red Max
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
The holes in these gas tank are made to fit available fuel lines tightly enough to prevent the problems you are having. If yours is leaking either someone put on too small a fuel line or made the hole larger so it would be easier to put the fuel line in the tank. The only fix is to get the next size larger fuel line or replace the tank. You can try to seal the line with RTV or silicone but he gas will degrade it and it will leak again plus you’ll have a harder time the next time the line has to be replaced.

What is the right gas-oil mix for leaf blower? The right gas to oil ratio will depend on your backpack leaf blower. Usually, a two-cycle engine uses a 50:1 or 40:1 2 stroke oil to gas ratio. But to know the exact measurements of the oil and gas you need to mix, it is best to go and check your owner`s manual.
Gas left in the tank for 30 days or more can deteriorate, causing the engine to stall or not start properly. If left for 6 months or more, the gasoline can turn into a thick sludge. To remedy this situation, just empty the old fuel and replace it with new fuel.
The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.
For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of petrol and 0.10 litres (100cm³) of STIHL two-stroke oil.
SHINDAIWA OWNER`S MANUAL
This engine is certified to operate on a 40:1 mixture consisting of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine mixing oil only.
Most STIHL gasoline-powered equipment runs on a 50:1 mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Knowing the proper way to mix your fuel is the first step in keeping it running strong and long.
Use a minimum of 89 octane gasoline and always use fresh fuel. Only buy enough gasoline that you can easily use up within a two- month period. For air-cooled, two-cycle engines, use a quality mix oil that meets the engine manufacturer`s recommendations.
The fuel isn`t one of your leaf blower`s mechanical parts, but it`s an important part to consider. Not only does fuel quality start to degrade after 30 days; fuel left to sit longer than that can damage the blowers tank and fuel lines.
Some of the most powerful ones exceed 112 decibels, which can cause hearing damage in just one minute, they add. Gas-powered lawn equipment like leaf blowers and lawn mowers may produce more ozone pollution than all the millions of cars in California combined.
If you suspect a blockage, the quickest way to check is to free both ends of the pipe and blow through it. Use your mouth, not a high-pressure air line, which may cause damage.
For optimal performance, a diesel engine`s primary need is a continuous supply of clean fuel. A symptom known as “airlock” occurs when this flow is interrupted by an air bubble, causing the engine to shut down and refuse to start.
A primer bulb is important because it helps to fill the carburetor with the correct amount of fuel. You may need to fix or replace your primer bulb if: It is not creating proper suction/pressure. It has a crack in it.

when they start going bad. When they get warm, they quit. Some will
last up to 20 minutes before they shut down. You can sometimes find a
used one pretty cheap at a small engine shop.Jim
