Fish Mate incorporate a UV light clarifier into the filter to cleanse the water of algae cells. The cells are clumped together, making them much easier to dispose of via the filter media.
Pressurised Pond Filter

Your pond pump delivers the water to the pressure filter, which is then passed through the filter media and UVC. The water leaving the filter is still under pressure meaning that you can place the filter anywhere outside of the pond, and it can feed a waterfall or water feature.

Once you create a warm environment in your tank, your fish may be stimulated to begin breeding. Also, remember to note: every fish species has a unique way of laying their eggs. That means you will also need to set up your aquarium with plant types, surfaces, and foods that can best encourage your fish to breed.
Best place to put a filter in a tank? Under gravel, filters are placed at the bottom of the tank under the substrate. Canister filters are placed on the floor or bottom of the tank stand. Hanging filters are hung at the backside of a tank.
In most cases, the females release eggs into the water and they are immediately fertilized by sperm from the male. In the wild, fish can easily reproduce when they sexually mature.
A pressurised filter is a water-tight canister that utilises the pump flow rate to force the water through a collection of sponges in order to filter out the debris within the pond.
Pressure filters are ideal stand-alone filters for small to medium koi/fish ponds. They also serve as great auxiliary filtration for larger ponds with a skimmer/waterfall filtration system already in place.
Most lamp manufacturers (Phillips, GE, and Sylvania, etc.) recommend: removing and replacing UV lamps every 9,000 hours or 1 year (annual preventative maintenance [PM] schedule). Most quality lamps will emit at least 80% of their original UV-C output at the end of one year.
First look and make sure the lamp is glowing. Your UV should have a clear portion that allows you to see if the light is burning. You should never look directly at a glowing UV lamp. If it is not working the lamp is bad, the ballast is bad, or there is an electrical problem.
Water Garden generally recommend changing the bulb once a year, usually at the start of the season to ensure the clarifier performs to the best of its ability. If your pond is purely ornamental and doesn`t contain fish, you should be fine to change the bulb after 18 months of use.
In general, ultraviolet pond lights should last for a year to a year-and-a-half. Many pond owners will replace the bulb once a year, usually in the spring when it is getting warm enough to clean the pond thoroughly.

How often do i clean filter sponge and change bio media in gravity 8 watt filter thanks
ANSWER : I find cleaning the filter sponge bi-weekly keeps my koi happy. Normally I change bio media once a year and never at the same time as I clean the filter. There are bacteria that colonize the filter that convert the muck into gases and nutrients. So if you clean them both at the same time you remove this cleaning crew and that can cause issues.

How to prime a sand filter pump – INTEX Sand Filter Pump
ANSWER : It depends on the pump but most pumps have a filter bowl with a screw on cover – you need to fill this with water and start the pump. if the pipework connected to the pump and the filter are empty you will usually have to repeat this process a few times, but once the pump is primed it should start up without repriming in future – Hope this helps – Nigel

Since day 1 I have has sand in my filter Have changed sand frequently How much sand goes into the filter I have S210T filter
ANSWER : Sand in your filter or sand in your pool? A common mistake when installing these is not to fill them half way with water prior to filling the tank with sand. Failure to do so often leads to cracks in the lateral assembly and sand in the pool. If that is the case you’ll need a new lateral assembly, part #SX210DA. Depending on how long ago it was installed and who installed it you may be able to get the part under warranty. If not it runs about $45.

The filter takes 200# of sand. Your product tag should confirm this with a statement of something like “media required: 200#” or something similar.
