How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
If the seal that stops the flow of water through the wand is broken, water may continuously flow from the nozzle, as the unloader valve will not switch into bypass mode as it should. If you suspect your trigger wand is causing this issue, it should be replaced.
If your pressure washer is refusing to work or even turn on, the culprit could potentially be the power switches. Most pressure washers use two micro switches that disconnect both the live and neutral connections between the supply and the motor. These switches can jam cutting the power out from reaching the motor.
If your power washer leaks water from the connection between the hose and inlet, the seal and possibly the coupling on the inlet are likely broken and will need to be replaced. This seal and coupling should be fairly easy to remove and replace.
To prevent any wear on the valve the water will need to be turned off at the main water valve. This won`t cause any problems and can save potentially save you hundreds of pounds from water damage. A ball valve is open when the handle is parallel to the pipe.
WORN OUT WASHERS OR SEALS
A common reason for a washer water hose leak is a worn washer that sits in the water fill hose. Over time these washers get “smooshed” and allow water to pass through which causes a leak. These seals or washers can be easily replaced. Rubber Seal In Washing Machine Hose Prevents Leaks!
Most commonly a result of improper starting, “flooding” results from various causes, including over-priming, closed choke, stuck valve, gummed carburetor, or immediately trying to restart an automatic choke engine. The easiest way to tell if your engine is flooded with gas is to remove the spark plug.
Once your pressure washer and water source are turned OFF and you are unable to disconnect your hoses from the pump and gun it is generally due to the pressure that is still inside of the machine. To relieve this pressure simply squeeze the trigger to release any water and then try disconnecting hoses again.
Find the two water shut off valves There will be two valves located behind your washing machine: one for hot water and the other for cold. Turn the valves clockwise.

WATER COMING OUT AT BOTTOM OF WASHER – Karcher K2.26 Electric Power Washer
In this case the seals surrounding the pistons (3 in number)..are faulty.
You can open the cover first ( by using a TORX T15 screw driver). Start machine in this way with all attached…( never run a power washer with out water and never store a power washer with pressure in it). When you start machine with out cover you can more easely see from where water is coming out. Mostly the case will be that water is coming out from between the head and the bottom part of machine. If water went into the bottom part…then the oil is ruined also.
So this case needs that all seals to be changed. One must inspect the pistons….because if the pistons are scrathed and pitted…then it is useless to put new seals. Thus new pistons must be put with new seals…and other gaskets renewed.
I have used the McCulloch (FH180A) three times over the course of two years. On my fourth use the pressure washer just surged on and off and I would get a tiny spray from the gun each time it surged. In other words it would do nothing. Please help… very frustrated. Thanks
Sounds like the problem could be low input water flow or pressure. There could be crud on the intake where you hook up the garden hose, there could be some other sort of blockage. Try hooking it up to the hose and pull the trigger (with the power switched off) and wait to see if water comes out the tip. Also look at the tip(s) themselves. sometimes a piece of crud gets into the hose and then clogs the tip.
My Husky HU 80709 gas pressure washer starts (most of the time) but if I shut it off to answer a phone call, etc.,I cannot get it started again. It’s like it has a vapor lock or something. Any ideas what is wrong, suggestions to fix it, will be very appreciated. Thanks! [email protected]
I have the same power washer.
When you go to restart it you need to hold the sprayer nozzle so the their is no pressure in the hose. It is even better if you take the tip off the spray nozzle and then while holding the spray nozzle open restart. It will start up real quick. I never start it now with the hose on or attached at least from a cold start. Kind of a pain.
I will also tell you this. This morning I had two bolts shear off the main pump. I have used it 5 times and have had it only a year. I am hoping this is a fluke since I really do like the pressure washer.
Power waher was working fine nad than preassure stopped and water is coming out of bottom no pressure in gun
Sounds like something busted or whether a part or a hose on the inside busted take apart and see what it might be if it is a part that can be replaced or jb weld it may still can be used or if recently bought return it
I bought a honda pressure washer power boss 3000. I load the gasoline, start the machine, but pressure water is not coming out
from the trigger. i tried so many things , but can t get started.
If you are using a water tank for water supply, remove the water supply line from the pressure washer and connect a water hose from a faucet. Turn the water on, then crank the engine. Pull the trigger of the spray gun until water comes out. When then water starts to spray properly the release the trigger, shut engine down with pressure on the line then reconnect the water supply from the tank to the pressure washer. If this fixes the problem then the problem was “air-locked”! Happens alot with new pressure washers that have never been run. If you need any other help, please email me @ [email protected]
Power washer stalls after spraying – Honda Pressure Washer PSI 3000
Your pressure relief valve may not be working. If that happens when you shut off your spray gun, then pump is dead heading, stopping the motor. If this is the case it stops dead, not coasting. Either replace the pressure adjusting relief valve or remove it, and disassemble it and clean it.
This pressure washer will continue to build pressure when you let off the trigger. I have replaced the hose 3 times because the pump continues to pump until it blows the hose. The pump will not stop pumping!
You have a defective pressure release valve or someone has misadjusted.
