Make sure the bar groove is cleaned with a ‘bar groove cleaner’ its always good now and again or empty the oil tank completely and flush out with a bit of fuel, as sawdust and debris can often get into the oil tank when filling up. *DEEPER CLEAN – With in the oil tank itself is a plastic mesh filter, this mainly keeps larger debris from entering the oil line.. to clean the oiling system fully you want to remove the clutch drum and clutch, behind that is the oil pump. remove that and you can then blow an airline through the oil pipe and pick-up body back into the oil tank. Make sure both the inlet and outlet of the oil pump are clean of debris and replace it along with the clutch and drum. Also blow out the feed groove to the bar.

Turn off the chain saw`s engine. Flip the saw so you can access its bottom if you want to adjust the oil flow. Locate the E-matic oil adjustment screw on the saw`s bottom, and turn it clockwise to increase the flow of oil. The E setting in the middle of the gauge next to the screw is the factory-default rate of flow.
Locate the oil adjuster screw on the bottom of the chainsaw. Turning this screw will adjust the oil feed rate. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the oil feed. Turn the screw counterclockwise to decrease the oil feed.

Ms290 oiler tube is leaking( looks nicked) just past where it comes out of the oiler tank. What is the procedure to replace it
ANSWER : There is a special puller too that STIHL dealers posess, you cannot get one, sorry, you have to pay to remove it. The good news is, there is a chinese company on eBay that sells the pumps for $6 shipped from china versus the $33 you’d pay from STIHL for the same chinese-made part.

I have a stihl ms 180, and looking at the carb there is a port on the top of it. What connect to it.
ANSWER : It connects to the black plastic intake housing that the filter mounts to. the port should point away from the engine when installed. please feel free to vote
