Disconnect the plug from mains. Press the release latch on the spool head cover and remove cover, pulling it straight off the cutting head assembly. Pull the cutting head cover away from the spool holder. Keep all areas of the cutting head cover and spool holder clean.
Place them through the eyelets on the outside of your trimmer head, which you`ll use to cut your grass. Replace the reel and spool into the trimmer head, and pull the lines through the slots to slot everything into place.
String trimmer line should be replaced at the start of each season as old line can be brittle and lead to easy breaks. Line may wear down faster if you`re cutting thick weeds or against hard surfaces. The traditional bump head has a round, black cutting head with a spring loaded knob in the center.
String trimmer line comes in a range of thicknesses or sizes. For light work, such as trimming grass, 0.065″-0.085″ should be sufficient. For thicker grass and weeds, a line in the 0.085″-0.110″ range will get the job done, and for thicker underbrush, anything thicker than 0.110″ will work.
A strimmer wire is an important component of a strimmer. Without it, the machine will not cut grass or weeds as it is supposed to. These cords come in different sizes, colours, and shapes. so making a choice between so many options can be difficult, especially if you haven`t used this device before.

If you see no line sticking out of the ports on the trimmer head, you may not have bump-fed the line often enough. Push the bump head down with one hand and pull out line with your other hand until you can touch the cutting guard with the tip of the line.
Electric cordless strimmers.

Cordless strimmers are powered by lithium-ion batteries rather than mains electricity. Because of this, you can use them anywhere in the garden, but you`re restricted by run time and how long the battery takes to charge.

Need to replace fuel lines on my Troy Bilt gas hedge trimmer. Where can I get replacement fuel lines… or better yet… what size are the lines and where can I buy a few feet of the lines. Note: I have reviewed the parts assembly and it would seem to indicate I have to replace the entire handle assembly (Part #1) instead of just buying replacement hose(s). Any help to resolve my issue would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
ANSWER : Replacement fuel lines should be readily available at your local lawnmower repair shop. Your TroyBilt hedger uses fuel line that is 3/32″ (2.4mm) interior dimension, 3/16″ (4.8mm) outside dimension, with a 3/64″ (1.2mm) wall dimension.
Most manufacturers don’t offer replacement line, only fuel tank assemblies. Find your local shop, and try to get the TYGON brand…it is yellow. Tygon lasts the longest. You should be able to buy it by the foot for less than $2 per foot. You will need 2 feet of hose to replace both lines.

Make sure to clean the in-tank filter when replacing hoses.

Good luck.

Need to know how to wind trimmer line on trimmer
ANSWER : Depends on the trimmer, all heads are different. However, the majority of trimmers are wound as follows:

1. pop the top cover off the head, pull the spool out. It will be either single or double lined, they will be wound counter clock wise.
2. the end of each line goes out each of the seperate holes
3. slide spool back on and replace cover

My RST210 2 stroke petrol strimmer won start it has a spark at the plug also the plug is flooding so fuel is getting through but non start ? Great full for any ideas
ANSWER : Often it’s the easiest thing that stump us. Try changing the spark plug first. Sometimes a spark plug just won’t fire under load, i.e., while it’s in the cylinder but will spark if you have it removed. There are checkers for this, but it’s a lot less expensive to just replace the spark plug. Do that first and let me know.

I need to replace to fuel lines on a Craftman 32cc trimmer. The old ones cracked apart. 2 of the lines look like 1/8″ OD one line looks like 3/32″ OD. Larger line looks like it hooks to filter, Smaller line to a fitting in the gas tank. I am assuming the smaller line ges to the primer inlet. My question is the lines penetrate the bottom of the gas tank. How do they seal. How do I install the filter and the fitting. I am assuming to thread the new lines in from the bottom of the tank and pull through the gas cap hole. Then I attach filter or fitting and pull back through. So do I pull the line so as to create a seal from the swell caused by the fitting/filter?
ANSWER : Depending on the brand of line you use, Tygon line is self sealing but seems to shrink faster then factory supplied because of the ethanol in the gas. The stone gas filter is designed to fall to the lowest part of the tank, not stop the line from falling out.
