Model P3314. The throttle is stuck so that the blade keeps turning after starting the saw. I removed the cover screws but that does not provide access to it. I removed the roll pins but all that does is loosen the throttle. Or does it not come apart?

If it is reving up then you would have to have a mechanic work on it if not if idling and chains moving then its your springs in the clutch broken they are made so that you can barely take them apart you could break more trying to fix it yourself

Replace the filter, start the saw and turn the “T” screw counterclockwise to increase the fuel mixture and the idle speed; turning the screw counterclockwise decreases both. You`ve achieved the proper fuel mixture when the engine idles smoothly but the chain doesn`t spin.

With the idle mixture screw removed, the tapered portion is what adjusts the volume of fuel allowed into the engine. Turning this adjustment screw clockwise (in) reduces the amount of fuel. Turning the screw counter-clockwise (out), increases the amount of fuel delivered to the engine.
The fuel line may be clogged from stale fuel deposits, more reasons to cause your chainsaw to cut out when applying throttle. If a fuel line is cracked, it will leak gasoline and draw air from outside into the fuel line. If the line is leaking fuel, it needs to be replaced.
Generally, two-stroke chainsaw engines are built to conveniently run at full throttle without an engine breakdown. Therefore, running at any throttle speed below the full throttle is not advised. Cutting a thick wood or timber while running at a low speed or throttle can cause the blades of the chainsaw to become dull.
If the carburetor is new or has been rebuilt, you should set it to “factory” adjustment. You can do so by adjusting the idle mixture screws to 1.5-2 turns out, and the idle speed screw to 1-1.5 turns in. Warm the Engine Up. The engine`s running temperature directly correlates with proper air and fuel mixtures.
If the carburetor is clogged, it may only work with the choke engaged, which is not a good way to be running your engine. Cleaning the carburetor and replacing some of the internal parts with a new carb kit is a great way to get your carburetor running properly again.
If the carburetor is new or has been rebuilt, you should set it to “factory” adjustment. Our mower is lacking power, on full throttle it appears as though its not getting enough fuel to allow it to get maximum revs. I changed the fuel filter and also put a tap in the fuel line, and I installed a new spark plug. None of these solved the problem.

ANSWER : If it starts and runs fine, the first thing I would do is to check if the throttle cable sleeve has slipped where it connects to the carb. I have seen a few of these tractors where the cable was not tightened well enough and it slipped.

I don’t have a picture of your actual motor. But here is a picture of the clip that holds your throttle cable tight. Follow the cable from the handle on your dash down to the motor. Find this clip on the side of the motor. Now: Move the throttle back and forth until you see how the cable moves the throttle mechanism. Does the cable extend to give the engine full throttle or shorten?

You want to move the cable so it gives the engine more throttle. I personally do this with the engine running but don’t do this yourself unless you are comfortable doing so. So loosen the bolt and move it only about 1/8 inch at a time.
