How do i change the line on my craftsman weedwacker model no 316.791970 how does the glide plate remove?

ANSWER : Reverse the line connections at the primer bulb. Look carefully, the long port has the line going to the tank, the short port on the bulb will connect with the fuel line to the carb.

ANSWER : It should have the little nylon connector on the very end of it at the very bottom of the fuel tank holding it in. You don’t have to have the fitting on it. Since it is connected on the purge valve RETURN line, that is all that is necessary..long as it doesn’t pull out of the tank…that line staying at bottom of tank keeps more air out of it as it carries old fuel and any air from the carb ahead of newer, fresh fuel entering the carb.

ANSWER : Basically this is a very simple thing to do as long as you have purchased the correct size of hose. Before removing the fuel line from the tank remove it from the carburetor. then you need a small bent wire or something like it to fish the filter out of the fuel tank. When you have that done you need to remove the filter and just pull the fuel line out. When you install the new line in the tank you need to snip the new fuel hose at an angle to help in the ease of re installing it. Once you get it started you can either reach into the tank with needle nose pliers and pinch it so you can pull it back into the tank. Or you can just twist it in a circular motion until it feeds itself into the tank. The rest is common sense. Install the fuel line filter and put it back into the tank then suck a little gas up the line so the carburetor don’t have to do it. that’ll prime the line and make it easier for the trimmer to start.

ANSWER : You will need to pull the head off, as it sounds like the cable is off. there should be four bolts/screws, there maybe some in the middle also, gently remove the head(this is the top of the trimmer where the pull cord is, once you have it separated you can turn the cable by hand and the line feeder should rotate, if it does then look inside the head and make sure it is still square and not rounded. or you can pull the line feeder off and pull the cord and see if the cable rotates, whichever you feel comfortable with trying. ANSWER : Follow the fuel line from the tank to the carb. If it has one, its in that tubing line. There will prolly be a particle filter screen inside the tank to keep crud from getting to the carb. Other than that – there’s really not much to the fuel system on these.
