ANSWER : No if your belt is shredding there is something rubbing on the belt. Check the idler/tightner pulley see if it spins freely. Check make sure nothing but the pulleys are touching the belt when it is engaged.

ANSWER : If one side works and one side does not I would suggest There is a broken shear pin in the one side that doesn’t work. The pin is likely through the auger and goes through the drive shaft. Sounds like it could be missing.

ANSWER : Sounds like roll pin has broken that is on it. Look for a hole where pin slides through shaft. Use a hammer and punch to push out broken piece out. Make sure outer hole matches up with inner hole.
