Most models of leaf blowers have two screws that you can turn in either direction to adjust the timing of the carburetor. One of these screws is the idle speed screw that controls how fast or slow the machine idles and the other is the mixture screw that controls the ratio of air and fuel that enter the engine.
According to Craftsman, the proper fuel mixture ratio for this blower is 40:1.
Most 2-cycle leaf blower engines use a 40:1 or 50:1 gasoline to oil mixture.
If your carburettor has a main jet adjustment screw at the base of the float bowl, turn the screw clockwise until you feel it just touch the seat inside the emulsion tube. Then, turn the screw counterclockwise 1 to 1-1/2 turns. Replace the air cleaner assembly and start the engine for final carburettor adjustments.
Find the adjustment screws on the front of the carburetor.
There should be two screws on the front of the carburetor, which are used to adjust the air and fuel mixture. These often look like flat-head screws, and you can use a screwdriver to turn them, adjusting the amount of fuel and air mixing in the carb.
Tip: The factory position for most air fuel mixture screws is usually between 1.5 and 2.5 turns out from being screwed all the way in. If you ever want to start fresh, turn the screw clockwise until it is lightly seated, then back it out about 2 turns.
Can you use 50 1 in a leaf blower? A: Yes, simply pour it into the gas tanks of 2 cycle engines. I use it in a chainsaw, blower, and weed wacker.
50:1 (2%) fuel / oil mix ratio is recommended with the use of genuine Husqvarna two-stroke oil for best performance.
Q: How Do I Know if My Carburetor Needs Adjusting? A: Simply put, poor running conditions are a dead giveaway. A rough idle, poor throttle response, and excessive fuel consumption are all signs to look for. If the carburetor was sitting for some time or hasn`t been serviced in a while, you may need to clean it first.
Fans: Pressure ratio up to 1.11. Blowers: Pressure ratio of 1.11 to 1.2. Compressors: Pressure ratio greater than 1.2.

Model 358 craftsman blower, where is the fuel filter
ANSWER : Follow the fuel line from the tank to the carb. If it has one, its in that tubing line. There will prolly be a particle filter screen inside the tank to keep crud from getting to the carb. Other than that – there’s really not much to the fuel system on these.
