When the blades are turning, the mower does NOT vibrate. Dont know if I took out the crank or not. All advice is appreciated! Thanks!!!

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If the mower vibrates when you engage the cutting blades, there might be a problem with the blade drive system. Deck vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, worn pulley or mandrel, bad blade belt or debris caught inside a pulley. Loose nuts or bolts on the pulleys, mandrels or blades can also cause vibration.
This is usually a sign that the mower blade is damaged or out of balance. The vibration is a result of uneven weight distribution at either end of the blade while it spins (the same way a washing machine with a load that is distributed unevenly will knock around and make more noise than usual).
Belt-the number one cause for your blades not to engage is that your belt is either stretched or loose causing it to slip or fall off completely. Belt could have snapped also. When you are trying to process too much grass/leaves they could pack up under your deck and push off your belt.
Mower blades are spinning 4000 RPMs. An unbalanced blade spinning that fast will cause a significant amount of vibration, which will put stress on yout blade shaft, spindle, and even the engine.
Power take-off (PTO) clutches provide a mechanical disconnect between the power created by gas and diesel engines or electric motors to another piece of equipment. The PTO clutches enable the transmission of that energy to auxiliary equipment that does not generate its own power.
The most common cause of excessive vibration is an unbalanced blade. If you`ve recently had your blade sharpened, it`s possible the blade hasn`t been properly balanced during the sharpening process. To fix this, the blade should be removed, rebalanced and refitted.
Installing new spark plugs is the best way to resolve such vibration related issues. The timing belt ensures the accurate functioning of many critical components of the engine. Any issues with the timing belt can cause your car`s engine to vibrate.

Hello i have a Honda GX160 and the engine will only run on choke if i close it the engine just splutters and thats it. it wont run at the norm i have replaced the carb the tank the air filter and the spark plug and know luck i have no more ideas as to what the problem really is thanks jord
ANSWER : Ii know you must have replaced the fuel filter. Did you replace the fuel line? It is obvious it is not betting enough fuel or it is out of time. Have you tried adjusting the jets on the carb? Have you checked the timing? There is a crankshaft key-way that may be bent just enough to get the engine out of time. And finally have you checked the fuel pump which I would suspect is your problem. The diaphragm may be busted.

Honda g100 stationary engine starts and runs well on full choke but will not run without choke.
ANSWER : Same problem here. I solved it by removing carburetor, removing float and valve seat and soaking in carb cleaner overnite. Blew out all the orifices with air and reasembled. Runs as good as ever!Always turn gas off and run until empty, gas evaporates and leaves residue in bowl and valve.
