Have you checked air filter? the carb may need adjusting. locate the adjustment screw(s) , screw them all the way in then back out 1-1/2 turns. try to start the engine. then let me know what happens.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If the piston rings or the cylinder are worn, your blower will lose power. These parts can become damaged for many reasons, such as running your blower with an incorrect fuel ratio. The most common reason to replace this part is because the piston rings are worn.
Check for a dirty air filter and replace if needed.

A clogged filter limits the amount of cool air that passes over the heat exchanger, causing it to overheat and shut off. At the same time, your blower turns on to help cool it down.

The air filter could be blocked.

A common problem that could be keeping your leaf blower from starting is a blocked air filter. Clogged air filters cause the blower`s engine to receive too much fuel and not enough air, which often leads to a faulty start (or no start at all).

This is caused by a rich/lean cycle at idle. As the motor leans out the RPM`s increase and richen up the motor, when the motor richens the RPM`s decrease and the motor leans out again. This continual cycle is known as “blower surge”.
Lack of maintenance: This is probably the most common reason that causes condenser fan motors to overheat and shut off. Proper and regular lubrication of the fan motor is necessary for the motor to run smoothly. Periodically making sure that there`s no debris or dust in or around the fan motor is also a good idea.
Problems include dirty filters, broken wires, poor voltage supply and faulty limit switch or capacitor. You can test your limit switch with a multimeter, and clean the blower motor`s wire coils. If this doesn`t work, you may need to replace your furnace blower motor.
Maintenance of gas powered leaf blowers produces toxic waste like fuel filters and contaminated air filters. Blowers erode, compact and dry out soil and harm plants, microorganisms and pollinators.
The main purpose of a spark arrestor screen is to prevent ignited gases from leaving the engine. In really dry periods of summer and fall, these heated gases, if they escaped, could start a fire, which, in many areas, can have disastrous, even fatal consequences for the local population.
The engine misfires or runs rough. The engine starts, but stalls shortly after. There is a noticeable increase in fuel consumption during normal equipment use. The spark plug itself appears damaged or corroded with carbon build-up or rust.
To completely start over the game, including all challenge progress, go to Options > Misc > Hard reset. The same result can be achieved by deleting the save. dat file. This will also reset options, which you can preserve by copying options.
You can tell if your engine`s flooded when you spot these signs: Very fast cranking (the engine sounds different when you turn the key – usually a `whirring` sound) A strong smell of petrol, especially around the exhaust. The car doesn`t start, or starts briefly and cuts out again.
If your air handler is running but not blowing air, there are two likely scenarios; either a broken AC blower belt or an issue with the motor itself. If the air handler is humming or buzzing, but not making the mechanical sounds of a motor running, you`re most likely talking about an issue with the motor itself.
If an engine is not getting enough fuel (this is called “running lean”), due to fuel pressure (regulated by the fuel pump and regulator), restricted fuel injectors, a vacuum leak or really anything that throws off the fuel mixture going in to the engine, this can cause the surge.
Power surges occur when the flow of electricity is interrupted, then started again, or when something sends electricity flowing back into the system. Surges can range from five or ten volts when you turn on your hair dryer to thousands of volts if lightning strikes a transformer.
Surging and Lagging

Another good indication that your spark plugs are dirty or worn is if your vehicle experiences surges of speed, resulting in a jerking acceleration. These surges occur because your spark plugs are not igniting the fuel in your engine at the proper rate, resulting in an uneven speed.

Like other components in your HVAC system, the blower motor can wear down over time. Some of the reasons a blower motor might fail are overheating, and excessive moisture. When dust, dirt, and debris build up, it can cause the windings and bearings to burn up more quickly.
If your furnace blower motor hums when it`s switched on but at the same time does not actually turn, the capacitor may be damaged. This problem of getting a humming noise along with little to no spinning is very common with motors that do not have good quality capacitors.
In the highest speed state, the blower resistor is bypassed completely and the fan is connected directly to the car`s battery, which allows maximum current through the motor.
It is usually located inside the blower compartment on the side of the blower motor. Be cautious as the housing may be hot. If the button is popped up, press it down.
The higher the CFM, the larger the area your blower effects and the better you can keep objects moving. You need both to make the most efficient use of your time. If you have high MPH and low CFM, you can get pebbles, mulch, and other large debris to move, but it won`t go very far away from the nozzle.
Never point the nozzle or blow debris toward people, pets or houses. Do not blow debris toward open windows or doors. Always be considerate of nearby people and property. Make sure to never leave the blower running when unattended.
Defective spark plug – Due to carbon build-up or a weakened electrode, a spark plug will degrade over time and be unable to ignite the compressed fuel and air inside the engine`s combustion chamber to start or run the engine.
A good spark will be blue-white and will be plainly visible in daylight. If a good spark is present, the problem is probably not in the ignition system. Check the fuel system and/or stark timing. Weak sparks are orange or red and may be hard to see in daylight.
Replace the spark plug with a new one at the start of fall or after every 25 hours of use, whichever comes first.

Started PB620-ST yesterday with some difficulty. However, ran until fuel empty. Refueled today, but will not start. Spark at plug ok. Fuel flowing, but seems to overflow into air filter compartment. Does not seem to “fire” at all.
ANSWER : Sounds like your flooding the engine; I did the same thing. Wait a while to let the gas drain back to the tank. Use your primer bulb once and your choke for only ONE pull; then shut off the choke. Pull start without the choke 2-3 times and it should start.

I recently tuned up my blower. It starts great but if I turn it off Nd try to restart it it floods and will not start until I let it sit for awhile.
ANSWER : If the engine is warm and you shut it down, leave the choke off, lower the revs and start it. (when the choke is wide open you are using the fresh air coming in to dry the spark plugs and prevent flooding). If the motor is already flooded use that procedure to dry the plugs, then go back to full choke until it tries to start and quits again, then use half choke and pull one more time… works all the time.

It will not start and has no spark. I pulled the plug and let it hang and had no spark. I did the same thing with a spark plug and still no change. Can anyone help me
ANSWER : First of all- your methods of testing spark are … unsatisfactory.
You need a spark tester and a good unit ground to determine the condition of the module.
For preliminary tests the spark plug needs to be grounded. Insert the plug into the spark plug boot and make sure there is a good connection and make sure the plug is grounded by touching the threaded part of the spark plug to a solid engine component. Usually the cooling fins of the cylinder or head. Once the plug is grounded proplerly then pull the rope and check for fire.
Once you are satisfied that there is no spark then unplug the ground wire from the module and check for spark again. If you have spark then its a switch or bad wire problem. If still no spark then replace the module.

No spark – Homelite 'Yard Broom' Leaf Blower
ANSWER : Try a new spark plug. If you have done that and still no spark, check the flywheel coil leg gap (.012) thousand, should do it. Also, disconnect the kill switch and run a spark test again. If the unit still doesn’t have any spark, then in all probability you need a new coil or as they call them today, a new module.
