The most common problem with a chainsaw not starting is that there`s a problem with the fuel mix. Double check that you`ve used 25 parts fresh unleaded petrol to 1 part 2-stroke oil (25:1). Check the petrol you`ve used isn`t stale.
A dirty carburetor, bad gasoline and low-quality two-stroke oil that creates deposits all contribute to chainsaw starting problems.
Just let the saw sit for 30 min and the excess gas will evaporate. Remove the spark plug, dry it, crank over the engine a few times to dry the cylinder. Now refit the plug and try again. Set the switch to “On”, set throttle to fully open, set choke to “Off” and crank over the engine.
One tell-tale sign that a chainsaw has flooded is the smell of fresh petrol near the muffler. To ascertain whether this is indeed the problem, simply disassemble the part, pull the starter cord as if you were switching on the engine, then dry it, reassemble it and try switching it on again.
Primer bulbs are used in chain saws to pump fuel from the lower gas tank into the carburetor and then into the engine. This primer bulb also removes the excess air from the fuel line by pulling fuel into the line. This helps prime the circuit, which allows your saw to be started.
When engaged, the chain brake stops the chain from rotating around the saw`s guide bar. When using a chainsaw, you should always start it with the chain brake engaged so the chain does not move.

My Honda 2600 psi power washer will not pull to start. It was running great then I allowed the neighbor to borrow it. He ran the washer till it was out of gas and proceeded to refuel and at this point it would no longer start. The pull cord is out about 4-6 inches out and I am concerned about taking the casing off myself.
Fearing that it may throw more off on the unit. If i take the casing off are there any spring loaded parts that will dismount?

ANSWER : You should be fine to take the recoil off, there shouldn’t be anything that shoots out at you. You might want to check the oil level on the engine, many of the Honda engines won’t start unless there is enough oil in them. If your oil level is fine, check to make sure that your motor is getting spark.
