Have a ryobi rlt 30 cd and it just wont turn the spool – it worked for about 10 mins then just wont spin hard/fast enough to do more than tickle the grass – please help

A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the string trimmer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.

The air filter or exhaust port may be blocked. The trimmer may need lubrication and cooling fins or air passages may be blocked. A cordless trimmer`s battery or charger may be faulty.
Just Like Spark plug fouling, too much oil in the gasoline, inferior oil, a dirty air filter and/or continued operation at less than full throttle will plug the screen with carbon deposits. This prevents exhaust gases from flowing out, which leads to power loss or not running at all.
All air-cooled small engines have cooling fins manufactured right into the engine`s cylinder head and short block. These fins help to dissipate the heat from the engine. If the fins get clogged with dead grass, leaves, or other debris, they won`t allow the engine to cool properly, and the engine will overheat.
First check that you have a fully charged battery – a fully charged battery maximises runtime and also power, and minimises the chance of your mower cutting out in use. The next thing to check for is the condition of your lawn – for best performance, it`s recommended to mow your lawn regularly and to mow dry grass.

Ryobi troubleshooting Recently bought the two set package of 18V lithium batteries however the tool will not work. It was working however it has stopped . Tried two different batterie , both fully charged ,with no results.
ANSWER : The motor may have overheated and burned open. Use a multimeter to check resistance across the battery contacts in the tool with the switch closed. If it reads open, the motor has failed.

Bought a Ryobi weed trimmer CS26 from Home Depot. The second time I used it string broke both ends. Could not take it apart went to Home depot after 30 days they could not take it apart. They would not give money back. I Went home banged the string spool got vise grips finaly took off spool and replaced it with optional spool slid in string per directions every time I try to use it string flys out. What the hell? Now what?
ANSWER : Just cheap equipment. Mark it up to experience and do not purchase equipment fro home center or box stores ever again. This is just one of the many problems of dealing with the box stores rather than a full service qualified dealer. If you can find one in your area, patronize them. Not just when the box store lets you down but for everything. These type dealers are disappearing and are not being replaced and soon they will all be gone.

I have aryobi bc 30 ry30562.engine does not come up to speed.feels like it is starving for fuel.when i start to weed whack it wont rev up.could this be a fuel problem?

BC 30 wont start after engine is hot
ANSWER : Check that you are using the correct values for the fuel mixture.One major symptom of an old, or incorrectly mixed fuel, is overheating.Also another possibility, is that the timing could be an issue.But if you find the engine revs up ok, don’t re-adjust the timing. Ryobi cs 30 why does the trim head turn on its own after started when I haven’t touched the throttle !!

It wont start,I replaced the spark plug
ANSWER : Joe try putting some fuel in where the spark plug goes. If it still doesn’t fire then proceed to eliminate things. Firstly the air filter will need cleaning then the spark coil. If it still don’t fire check the switch is ok. Sometimes the switch breaks a circuit and helps with the running of it.
