Left out in the weather, tool handles can mildew, rot, and warp. The best thing you can do is store your garden tools inside away from sun and rain. Hang them up or set them in a tool caddy so they`re not sitting directly on a damp cement surface. Also, use your tools in the way they were intended so they don`t break.
To maintain wooden and fibreglass handles simply store away from direct sunlight and damp. Although the handle is varnished, we recommend that you use sandpaper regularly to remove any splinters. Wax is the easiest finish for a handle by far. Just rub on, let dry then buff with a soft cloth, and you`re done. Waxes can wear off a lot faster than oil, but they are so easy to use, it`s often worth it.
