Honda hrg415c1 lawnmower uses too much fuel.
How can I make adjustments
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
There is an air/fuel ratio adjustment screw on the side of the carburetor. Turn this back and forth until the mower runs smootly.
How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
Too much fuel in the air/fuel mixture can make your vehicle surge, sputter, or even stall. For example, if the carburetor is set way too rich, it will push enough gas through to the combustion chamber and flood the engine. Your engine power might lag if the engine is being flooded while you`re driving, as well.
If your riding mower is running rich, it could be due to a variety of reasons, such as a clogged air filter, a dirty carburetor, or a malfunctioning fuel pump. To fix the problem, you`ll need to identify the source of the issue and take the necessary steps to correct it.
If the carburetor is supplying an air/fuel mixture that is too rich, the engine may tend to load up, foul the spark plugs, run sluggish and lack power.
A bad spark plug, if it causes misfire, sends air and unburned fuel into the exhaust. The oxygen sensor senses the oxygen and the engine computer richens the fuel mixture.
Engine Running Rich Symptoms
If your car is running rich, you`ll likely experience these symptoms: Low gas mileage. A strong smell of gasoline, especially when idling. Check engine light warning.
If the engine is running to lean, the spark plug can look greyish white. If the engine is running to rich the spark plug will look black, sometimes a glossy black if it`s really rich.
Fuel wash: The excess fuel can wash the cylinder walls, wiping away essential engine oil. This causes friction to built up between the pistons and cylinder walls, leading to damage.
A rich mixture is more common and not necessarily detrimental to your engine. In the case of a slightly rich mixture, you may notice reduced engine efficiency and worse fuel economy, but the rich mixture will generate more power and actually burn cooler.
Locate the idle mixture screw and turn it clockwise until the needle lightly touches the seat. Then, turn the screw counterclockwise 1-1/2 turns. If your carburettor has a main jet adjustment screw at the base of the float bowl, turn the screw clockwise until you feel it just touch the seat inside the emulsion tube.
For optimum fuel economy 16-17:1 is usually best, leaner than that and the car will begin to misfire. Maximum power is usually found between 12-14:1, but this may be too lean for safety on many engines. For maximum reliability at full power, air fuel ratios from 10.5-12.5:1 are considered best, depending on the engine.

What is fuel mixture for solo motosage 60135
ANSWER : Some say 100:1 with synthetics. I use synthetics on 80cc and larger saws in the range of 40/50:1. I never go higher than that….saws are just too expensive to be stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. A lot of people are trying to make mixing ratios like some kind of mystery voodoo. You’ll always be fine in the 40/50:1 range with a good synthetic oil.
Homelite d3350b what is fuel oil mix i was told i could use 50 to 1 because the new oils are better?????
ANSWER : Buy a good quality oil and mix it to the OIL manufacturers recommendation regardless of what the chainsaw manual says. If you are poking around the barn and find an old can of Homelite 2 cycle oil that says mix 25:1 mix it at that ratio.
All modern oils, chainsaws, and the EPA recommend 50:1. There has been great improvement in 2 cycle technology over the years. To rich a mix causes carbon build up on the piston that breaks loose and scores the piston and cylinder, and it stinks!
Why will my1994 bravada not start?
ANSWER : Very possible your new pump went out again, or was not installed correctly. Check fuel pressure. If you know electrical you can jumper the relay to run the pump. On some GM models I have seen a test wire for the pump underhood.
