What is correct way to measure tow?

Take a measurement at the tyre wall half way up the tyre from left to right tyre. repeat the process at the rear of the front tyres at the same level subtract the smaller from the larger and that is the tow in/out you have Tow in is when the front dimension is smaller than the rear and the amount of tow in is the difference in measurements. It should be about 1/8 to 1/4 inch

For a two-wheel drive tractor, the acceptable tolerance is toe-in of between 0 and 3 mm. For a four-wheel drive tractor, the acceptable tolerance is between 0 and -4 mm for toe-in and 0 and +4 mm for toe-out.
Commonly, a rear-drive vehicle would likely require a front wheel toe-in (positive) setting, and a front-wheel-drive vehicle would likely require a slight toe-out (negative) setting.
If the sharp edges of the tread sections are pointing to the center of the car, then there is too much toe-in. If they are pointed to the outside of the car then there is too much toe-out. Toe is always adjustable on the front wheels and on some cars, is also adjustable for the rear wheels.
Incorrect toe alignment parameters often lead to increased rolling resistance, additional tread wear, and greater fuel consumption. Moreover, they may not always manifest themselves in the form of exacerbated handling.
Typical toe-in specs vary from one-thirty-second to one-eighth-inch, depending on the vehicle. Check a service manual for your car`s acceptable range. The best tip-off to a toe problem is a saw-tooth wear pattern that`s equal on both front tires.
Toe angle is the angle of the wheels when viewed from directly above. If the front of the wheel is pointing in towards the centre line of the car then it is called toe in (positive toe). If the front of the wheel points out towards the outside of the car, then this is called toe out (negative toe).
Toe-in is when two front tires slightly point towards the centerline of the car (towards each other). This helps the car drive straight. The front tires of a car should have around 1/8″ of toe-in.
Excessive Toe-in will make the outside edges of your tires wear out quickly, so you`ll have to buy new tires more often.
Driving a vehicle with improper wheel alignment can cause uneven wear on the tires. If the problem is not corrected soon enough, a vehicle`s tires could suffer premature wear and tear, making them unsafe. Correct alignment problems immediately to avoid unnecessary tire damage.
Things like hitting potholes, bumping curbs, or even minor accidents are all common causes of one or more of your wheels coming out of alignment. Second, normal wear and tear can all eventually cause your car to come out of alignment.
If not correct, toe causes camber-type wear on one side of the tire. Incorrect front toe does not cause a pull condition. Incorrect rear toe will cause the steering wheel not to be straight and a pull condition will occur as the tires can also wear.
Toe is always set last because adjusting camber or caster moves the control arms, and that changes the toe.

Hit fence and right front tire is towing out. how do you get the alignment right?
Kevin plumag, you may have bent the tie rod. It’s an easy fix: each end of the tie rod connects to the axle, keeping the wheels at the right distance. Each end of the tie rod has a small cotter pin. Remove the cotter pin (a washer will fall off), lift out the bent tie rod, and put a new one back in, reinstalling the washer and cotter pin on each end.If your tie rod is straight, something else is wrong (which is why I’m searching the boards!). You can order a tie rod from Sears; check your manual for the part number.
My front wheels won’t engage on my Toro. Belt is fine, and spool is turning. Looks like the box isn’t in the right position for the gears to engage. Is there a simple fix?????
Not with toro. this usually happens if cutting high grass. try taking it apart, clean it. make sure belt is not stretched out and jammed.

Front wheels lock up when pull mower backwards

Yes, it may have gotten excessive oil on it and swelled the rubber. Replace the drive wheel.
