I am constanly having to stop and take the stinger spool out and extend it. It seems to just slip or advance out Not due to edging the sidewalk. Very annoying. I can edge 10 feet and have to advance the string manually.

Petrol weed eater will not start. Alomost starts
ANSWER : Hi Mark, I own a shop, we will not work on ryobi, have you gotten 2 seasons out of it? If so thats probably as good as it gets. But you can check carb settings. In the USA they come with limiters on the adjustment screws, not too much you can do(break them off) back your adjustments counter clockwise 1half turn.

My weed eater hedge trimmer runs for about 10 minutes and cuts off. It seems as though it is flooded, because it won’t start again until some time later. But it continues with the same pattern. I purchased a can of premixed gas/oil to make sure it was my mixture, to no avail. I have not replaced the spark plug yet, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. Do you have any suggestions?

Have a Ryobi CS30 Weedeater, will not start, it is about a year old, did not see a spark, just bought new plug.
ANSWER : If you still don’t have a spark with the new plug, then you may have a kill switch wire grounding the motor, keeping it from starting. If it’s not that, then you have a bad ignition module (coil).Jim

ANSWER : Does it blow out alot of blue or dark exhaust? if so adjust screw on carberator as it maybe be running rich, if this doesnt work have the switch checked for malfunctioning

From your Description it Sounds like the Shaft May have Slipped Out of the Power Head and the Drive Cable is Not Engaged to the Drive, the Clutch is Worn Out, the Drive Cable is Worn and Requires Replacing, the Trimmer Head has Slipped and is Not Engaged to the Drive Cable or the Trimmer Head Gearbox is Bad and Requires Replacing.

Weed eater won’t run
ANSWER : Sounds like you may just have a dirty carburetor.Youwill need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to seedaylight through it.)Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.If you need further assistance, just let me know.Jim
