Oil pressure builds in the crank case
Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Either the crankcase breather is blocked or the engine is badly worn, make sure the engine is not over filled with oil.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Excess crankcase pressure may also occur if the PCV system vacuum supply becomes restricted. Excessive crankcase under-pressure, (vacuum) can occur if the fresh air inlet becomes restricted or the wrong PCV valve is used.
On engines using the factory designed crankcase ventilation system (a PCV or “positive crankcase ventilation” system), we typically measure peak crankcase pressures on the order of 2.5 to 6.0 psi when the engine is in normal running order.
Common signs of a faulty PCV valve include excessive oil consumption, oil leaking, a blocked breather filter, and reduction in overall performance.
Common signs include oil leaks, excessively high idle, and a decrease in engine performance, power, and acceleration.
The most effective method in reducing crankcase pressure, however, is by employing a racing vacuum pump. Offered by manufacturers including CVR and Moroso, a vacuum pump uses negative air pressure to pull air out of the crankcase, creating vacuum.
Crankcase pressure can be prevented by protecting the piston rings. With a cold start, no oil film is yet present on the moving parts. The chance of metal-to-metal contact increases, so that the piston rings wear faster. This can be prevented with the Lindemann Engine Performance Treatment.
Yes. It can cause leaks in extreme cases. It can also decrease performance if it`s high enough to create resistance to the pistons as they travel down into the crankcase.
First of all, in most engines, the expected power gains will occur with 8 to 10 inches HG crankcase vacuum. Beyond that point, more vacuum does not generally produce any measurable power gain until (a) you get more than 20 inches HG of vacuum AND (b) you are operating in excess of approximately 8300 RPM.
2) Compression leak to oil galleries

If the head gasket fails between the cylinder and an oil gallery, compression will enter the oil system and pressurize the crankcase.

A stuck closed PCV valve results in excessive crankcase pressure. It forces oil past the engine`s seals and gaskets. A stuck open PCV valve or leaking hose results in a large vacuum leak, a rough idle, and drivability issues like surging.
If the engine is producing blow-by gases faster than the PCV system can dispose of them, an increasing surplus becomes trapped in the crankcase, causing excess pressure and inevitably, oil leaks. Even the most carefully sealed gaskets can leak when confronted by rising internal crankcase pressure.
The crankcase`s airflow will be restricted by a clogged filter, resulting in a less-than-ideal flow of blow-by gases. As a result, the crankcase will build up pressure, which will eventually cause a number of gaskets and seals to blow and let an oil leak.

Can too much oil cause high oil pressure? It will not cause high oil pressure inside the lubrication system where your oil pressure gauge measures. But it can cause excessive pressure on the crankcase and oil pan and gaskets.

1750 psi Electric Pressure Washer: My pressure washer is losing pressure and is pulsa…
ANSWER : If the pressure washer is pulsating then that is a sign of check valve failure. You may be able to clean of replace the check valves. Replacing the head is the wrong way to go. This is completely unnecessary. If you can tell me the model number of your pressure washer then I can assist you better in pointing you in the right direction.

<!– from fixya rte –>Rope pull start is stuck, won't pull out – Honda Black Max 2600 PSI Pressure Washer
ANSWER : Check the oil level, if it’s very low or burnt then it may have siezed up internally.
It could also be that be that the cylinder is filled with oil or fuel.
if the washer was tipped over the fuel or oil may have migrated in to the piston combustion area.
