If the carburetor is new or has been rebuilt, you should set it to “factory” adjustment. You can do so by adjusting the idle mixture screws to 1.5-2 turns out, and the idle speed screw to 1-1.5 turns in. Warm the Engine Up. The engine`s running temperature directly correlates with proper air and fuel mixtures.
It may sound simple, but if your mower will not start, try turning off the mower blades or PTO shaft, set the brake, and try starting it again. The parking brake must always be fully engaged when starting. Next, check the fuel level in the tank, and be sure to always use fresh fuel if the tank is low.

Sounds like something was blocking air from entering the vacuum that`s created. Maybe the rough waves got water and debris into your fuel tank vent and the vacuum sucked all of the air out collapsing the bulb.
The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.
The idle speed screw (arrow 1) is located on the primary linkage. The idle metering adjustment screws (arrow 2) are located on the primary metering block on most Holley carburetors. A typical starting location for these idle mixture screws is between 1 and 1 ½ turns out from fully seated.
The carburetor might be clogged or have bad fuel in the float bowl. If old fuel was left in the small engine for a long time, some of the volatile ingredients may have evaporated, leaving a thicker, stickier product that is more like varnish or shellac.
If your lawnmower`s engine is surging it could be a problem with the carburetor. The carburetor mixes air and fuel to the perfect ratio for combustion. There are passages and nozzles (called jets) that route the fuel through the carburetor. The jets meter the precise amount of fuel that is needed for combustion.
Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Dirty Air Filter: Clean or replace. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn`t work, you might need a new fuel filter.
A full gas tank and oil reservoir are the essential first steps when checking why the lawn mower won`t stay running, but the problem could also be a dirty filter, clogged carburetor, improper fuel mixture, or a dirty spark plug.
If you pull the cord and hear your engine turn over, but your mower is not starting, the most common reasons for this are low fuel, a broken gas valve, or a bad choke fault. A broker spark plug could also be the culprit. You may also have to change the fuel pump if it does not get fuel to the ignition system.

Most riding mowers take a 12 volt battery, although some smaller mowers rely on a 6 volt battery. If you`re unsure what type of battery your mower requires, you can check the voltage of your old battery, or look up the information in your owner`s manual or on the manufacturer`s website.
Without a coat of primer, you`re looking at a splotchy paint job. Applying primer prior to painting drywall will give your finished wall an even, clean look.
Scenario #1: Unpainted wood and drywall
However, because it absorbs so well, without a primer coat, you`ll experience uneven coverage, especially along drywall seams. This means you`ll need to apply more paint to finally get an even coat. Even then, you may still find yourself repainting again sooner than later.
To provide an adequate fuel/air mixture, gas may be placed directly into the carburetor to prime the engine. Priming carburetors is a dangerous and unnecessary practice and can produce explosion or fire!
A primer bulb is important because it helps to fill the carburetor with the correct amount of fuel. You may need to fix or replace your primer bulb if: It is not creating proper suction/pressure. It has a crack in it.
The filter should be installed in the outlet line that delivers fuel to the engine, after the tank outlet fitting but before any fuel pumps, regulators, primers or primer bulbs, or other filters.
Most cars come from the factory with Metal Lines because they hold up better than any soft material. They are usually made from stainless, aluminum or coated steel tube. Metal is the best material for fuel lines.
