If the pressure washer does not start, then the first thing to check is the fuse in the plug. The reading you`re looking for is the same as it would be when connecting the two probes of the multimeter together (as you can see in the example of this video, this fuse is actually fine).
It Can Harm The Unit

Without water to cool and lubricate it, the pump will work harder than it should, causing it to wear down quickly. This can happen even with just a few seconds of running the pressure washer without the water being turned on.

The pressure washer hose will fill with water, so it is important to purge the system of excess air before starting the unit. Simply squeeze the trigger on the gun and the air will release.
The fuse is inside the plug… may have to remove both covers.. However, if you get a red light, it is not the fuse, and the plug can go bad if water gets in, in which case you may have to replace it..
There are a variety of reasons as to why your pressure washer may not start. Some of these include, a dirty air filter, lack of or old fuel, problems with the spark plug wire`s connection or a bad spark plug, water in the fuel or an excessively rich fuel mixture, or the choke is in the ON position.
A clogged or improperly sized filter reduces the amount of liquid to the pump inlet, which can cause cavitation and even severe pump damage. Reduced inlet flow results in reduced flow to the system, which works to reduce system pressure as there is less resistance to the lower flow being produced.

I have used the McCulloch (FH180A) three times over the course of two years. On my fourth use the pressure washer just surged on and off and I would get a tiny spray from the gun each time it surged. In other words it would do nothing. Please help… very frustrated. Thanks
ANSWER : Sounds like the problem could be low input water flow or pressure. There could be crud on the intake where you hook up the garden hose, there could be some other sort of blockage. Try hooking it up to the hose and pull the trigger (with the power switched off) and wait to see if water comes out the tip. Also look at the tip(s) themselves. sometimes a piece of crud gets into the hose and then clogs the tip.

1750 psi Electric Pressure Washer: My pressure washer is losing pressure and is pulsa…
ANSWER : If the pressure washer is pulsating then that is a sign of check valve failure. You may be able to clean of replace the check valves. Replacing the head is the wrong way to go. This is completely unnecessary. If you can tell me the model number of your pressure washer then I can assist you better in pointing you in the right direction.

Power washer works perfect for 10- 15 minutes then blows fuse. Put in new fuse straight away and works fine again for another 10-15 minutes.
ANSWER : These machines can have issues such as you have explained if they are run off from an extension cord or if they are really far from the breaker box. They have this issue because the amount of amps that are going to the machine aren’t enough for the motor to operate efficentially so the motor in turn gets hot and blows the fuse or the breaker.

Another issue could be is that the nozzle is being restricted to much and is causing the motor to work harder than what it should and is causing the machine to over heat. This in turn would cause the motor to blow a fuse or a breaker.
