How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

When your mower vibrates severely, start by checking whether the blade is damaged, imbalanced or loose. Tighten the blade bolt if it`s loose. Replace the blade if it`s damaged. A rough-running engine can also cause severe vibrations so tune up the mower to cure engine vibrations.
Deck vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, worn pulley or mandrel, bad blade belt or debris caught inside a pulley. Loose nuts or bolts on the pulleys, mandrels or blades can also cause vibration. Remove the mower deck and re-tighten all fasteners. Check for wear on pulleys, mandrels and blades.
This is usually a sign that the mower blade is damaged or out of balance. The vibration is a result of uneven weight distribution at either end of the blade while it spins (the same way a washing machine with a load that is distributed unevenly will knock around and make more noise than usual).
An easy method to reduce vibration is to install a clean damper on the rear shaft of the motor. Clean dampers are basically hermetically sealed plastic cases with an inertia body packed with silicon gel. The extra inertia and silicon gel help absorb the vibration and provides a stable damping effect.
Vibration is usually caused by an out of balance or defective tire, a bent wheel or a worn driveline U-joint. You may find that the car shakes the car in an up and down motion. You may feel vibration through the seat, the steering wheel or even in the brake pedal.
Vibration-induced white finger (VWF) is the most common condition among the operators of hand-held vibrating tools. The symptoms of VWF are aggravated when the hands are exposed to cold. Vibration can cause changes in tendons, muscles, bones and joints, and can affect the nervous system.
Vibration motors are imbalanced motors. To make the motor imbalanced, a weight is added to the center of the rotary shaft which causes the motor to vibrate. Vibration depends on the weight added on the motor, the distance between the weight and the shaft center and the speed of the motor.

The lawnmower is vibrating excessively
The blade may be out of balance, or the blade bolt could be damaged. If so then it needs to be replaced. Check to see if the impeller (fan) is worn or damaged and if the lugs on the spacers have sheared. If so then these too need replacing.

I have a Husqvarna YTH2348 that I bought from Lowe’s last summer. As I was mowing today it suddenly started to vibrate excessively. I believe the problem is in the transaxle. It will move forward and back, but I obviously don’t want to use it if something has come loose inside or an adjustment needs to be made.
ANSWER : There are usually one or two idler pulleys on the belt that runs from the engine to the transmission. Check those, more than likely one has gone bad. the should spin freely with the brake engaged, and the should not wobble.
