ANSWER : This could be serious , ck that pump is full of fresh water , and theres no sign of sand in there , if theres sand you have a oring leaking or your aration fingers require replacment , use old nylon stocking or coffee filter on pump dish to see if any sand is getting out of filter

ANSWER : Im gonna guess that you stored the filter improperly off season and now the sand charge is hard as cement inside not alowing water to get thru , left alone for a week or so it might loosen up , but the best thing is to dissasemble filter and remove all sand and ck “fingers” inside this is fastest way

The pressure keeps creeping up to 30-35 psi. what seems to be the problem and how can I fix it?
ANSWER : If you are certain the gauge is accurate (does it return to zero when the system is off?) and the system has worked well in years past it means your sand bed has deteriorated to the point that backwashing no longer removes enough debris and/or the sand is worn enough as to become to compacted in the tank. Either way it means it is time to remove at least the top several inches of sand and replace it with one 50# bag or better yet, remove all the old sand and refill the tank with new sand in the amount indicated on the label under media…it will be in multiples of 50#.John
