How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Drag Links (DLs) connect the steering gear and the pitman arm at one vehicle wheel. Tie Rods (TRs) connect the steering knuckles at the left and at the right wheel to transfer the steering forces. THK develop and produce DLs and TRs for various load applications.
A steering drag link is part of the steering system which converts the rotary motion of a crank or steering box to a second crank or link. Converting the motion of the steering box into the linear motion required to pull the tie rods, enables the vehicle`s wheels to be turned.
Tie rods connect a center link to the steering knuckles. In a rack and pinion steering system, the rack takes the place of the center link. It moves back and forth across the pinion, and tie rods connect it to the steering knuckles.
If this coupling becomes worn and separates or breaks, you will lose all steering control. The coupling is located at the base of the steering column. The ball joints connect the control arms to the steering knuckle.
The vehicle may drift to the left or right on its own when traveling down the road. This will require the driver to have to constantly correct steering in order to maintain control of the vehicle, and may even make the vehicle unsafe to drive.
The drag link ball sockets also require inspection for wear on a quarterly basis or at 25,000 miles (40,234 kilometers), whichever comes first. This is done by pushing and pulling on the drag link by hand to see if there is any movement in the ball socket.
Pitman Arm: The Pitman arm connects the steering box, attached to the bottom of the steering shaft, and the center/drag link. The Pitman arm converts the radial motion of the steering column or shaft into the linear motion that turns the automobile`s wheels.
Common signs of a failing drag link include loose steering and “wiggle” in the steering wheel. If your vehicle displays these signs, you may need to replace the drag link. If you are in a position to replace the drag link, it might be worth your time to upgrade to a high grade aftermarket replacement.
Steering Linkage Parts

Steering linkages feature a range of parts depending on which system is used, including the steering knuckles, steering control arm, tie rod ends, draglink, Pitman arm, and ball joints.

The drag link plays an essential part in your vehicle`s steering system. While it`s not known for wearing out fast, it can undergo damage and need replacement at some point in your vehicle`s lifespan.
Modern vehicles are fitted with a steering lock which is an anti-theft device. It is fitted to the steering column usually below the steering wheel. The lock is combined with the ignition switch and engaged and disengaged either by a mechanical ignition key or electronically from the vehicles electronic control unit.

Belt for self popelled mower keeps breaking? Cannot keep a new belt on pulley
ANSWER : Check that the pulley isn’t seizing up and causing the belt to snap, also be sure you loosen up the self propelled mechanismn by spraying down with WD 40, too much belt tension can cause this, but it rather seems like the belt pulley seizes and the engines drive pulley keeps turning causing the belt to overheat and break or stretch and come flying off.

I wanted to replace the starter fuse and I can not detach it from
ANSWER : So, not enough description, however, I suspect that the holder has melted…

A starter has too high voltage for a fuse, in my opinion. I prefer to use fusable links in this type of application. A fusable link is a special wire that will burn out at too much amperage draw, but will normally last much longer, if it ever fails….

What you want is protection from burning wires, and the link will do that.

ANSWER : Remove the chain bar and look just below the bolts holding it in place. You’ll see a small hole where the chain bar oil pump pushes out oil. Make sure this hole is clear then run the saw without the bar on.

Be CAREFUL of fingers!

You should see oil coming out of that hole. If not, you may need more serious work done with the saw (chain bar pump replacement).
