If your RYOBI Edger isn`t starting: For 18V or 36V Battery models: check the battery has charge by pressing the fuel gauge. You need air for your initial spark – and if oxygen cannot move readily through the system you will have problems both starting and keeping your whipper snipper running. Wash the air filter in soap and hot water, then allow to air-dry.

When in operation the Ryobi S430 string trimmer leaks oil continuously. How can I fix this problem?
ANSWER : Ryobi told me the unit can’t have the s430 trimmer bottom end raised higher than the engine at any time, or it will leak. Apparently they released a product to compete with other companies for cheap 4 cycle trimmers without much care for the end user.

What’s your problem, trimmer cuts out on run?
ANSWER : Sounds like fuel problems tip out all fuel clean tank add new fuel (right mix) try that. make sure choke is working and throttle. good luck.
