How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

An engine that will fire and run with the choke closed but dies when the choke is opened likely has debris at least partially blocking the fuel passages in the carburetor. In this condition the closed choke provides enough extra fuel to enter the engine to overcome the lack of fuel flowing through the other passages.
In practice, an automatic choke has several disadvantages. First, the driver has no control over it, unlike a manual choke. Second, it often goes wrong. It may fail to operate at all, making the car difficult or impossible to start.
Why would the engine only run while the choke is on or with repeated manual priming? An engine that requires the choking (partial or full) after initial engine warm up is an indication that the engine fuel air mixture system is out of adjustment.
If a motorcycle or ATV only runs with the choke on, it`s because the richer “choke on” mixture is actually closer to the engine`s normal operating fuel mixture than the leaner “choke off” mixture. So when the choke is turned off, the engine gets too little fuel and too much air for it to run and it stalls.
The Choke Thermostat controls the idle of the vehicle by opening or closing the butterfly valve on the carburetor. When the engine is cold the thermostat will hold the valve closed which supplies a richer fuel mixture to the engine.
This is the same for any type of garment printing including screen printing. The Choke setting slightly reduces the outside dimensions of the Underbase so that white ink does not appear outside the prints edges of the final color pass.
Chokes are designed to close off or “choke” the air supply in order to provide the proper ratio of fuel to air. An engine needs more air as it warms up, so the choke needs to open to allow more air.
Automatically – An automatic choke uses a metal spring to open and close the choke plate. The spring is wound in a housing and attached to the choke linkage on one end. As the engine warms up, it warms the metal spring. As the spring warms, it expands, rotates, and opens the choke plate.
The solenoid consists of a steel plunger that is placed inside a wound coil of copper wire. When this coil is energized, a magnetic field is produced which draws the plunger into the magnetic field. The other end of the plunger is connected to the throttle or choke lever to be operated.
When your trimmer starts and runs on choke, it could be because the check valve in the gas cap is clogged. Start the trimmer and gently unscrew the gas cap halfway off. Turn the choke off and assess. If the engine is still running, that means the gas cap may be the culprit.
A Dirty Carburetor Can Cause a Lawnmower To Start Then Die

By far, the most common issue that causes a stalled motor is a dirty carburetor. The carburetor on your engine is the thing that draws in air and mixes it with the fuel. Contrary to what the movies might make you think, gasoline itself is not very flammable.

Stale fuel, dirt, and debris are the most common cause of outdoor power equipment not starting or running properly. If you store equipment with untreated gas in the tank, it can lead to engine damage.
