String trimmer line should be replaced at the start of each season as old line can be brittle and lead to easy breaks. Line may wear down faster if you`re cutting thick weeds or against hard surfaces. The traditional bump head has a round, black cutting head with a spring loaded knob in the center.
Most styles and weights are interchangeable, so you can use non-OEM (original equipment manufacturers) line. However, larger/heavier line may not fit every string trimmer. Replace old trimmer line every spring. It could turn brittle over the cold winter and break more easily.
Twisted trimmer line is an improvement upon standard round line. The twisted shape gives twisted trimmer line a bit of an edge in comparison to round. Trimmer line shapes that have edges are sharper. The edges that square and 5-point trimmer lines have allow the lines to actually slice through grass and weeds.
(5 products) Spools are an essential piece of kit which can bring your grass trimming device back to peak performance. They are commonly know as strimmer spools and come in a wide range of styles from.
You need to leave about six inches of string hanging from the spool when you are done adding your new string. You should use a heavy-duty pair of scissors to snip the string.

My RST210 2 stroke petrol strimmer won start it has a spark at the plug also the plug is flooding so fuel is getting through but non start ? Great full for any ideas
Often it’s the easiest thing that stump us. Try changing the spark plug first. Sometimes a spark plug just won’t fire under load, i.e., while it’s in the cylinder but will spark if you have it removed. There are checkers for this, but it’s a lot less expensive to just replace the spark plug. Do that first and let me know.
How do we operate the trimmer to change it to trim along the edges of lawn. Can’t find our information.
Most string trimmers can do this. Just turn it half-way around so the black handle is close to the ground (now string will spin in a verticle sweep instead of parallel to ground). Just walk along sidewalk nad trim. You will have to hold tightly to keep the line straight (brace against your hip and try to make several passes and cut a little at a time).
You may have a button that allows you to only turn the cutting head half way around (so you don’t have to use your thumb to operate the switch). Either way, it will work fine.
Auto feed doesn’t work
Take the end apart and make sure the line is not getting bound up or is not over filled to where it can not move freely
I cannot get the line to feed as it is used up. bumping does no good. the spring is in place. thanks for your help
Did you wind in the new string in the correct direction? The string should be wound in the SAME direction that the head spins.

Need to know how to wind trimmer line on trimmer
Depends on the trimmer, all heads are different. However, the majority of trimmers are wound as follows:
1. pop the top cover off the head, pull the spool out. It will be either single or double lined, they will be wound counter clock wise.
2. the end of each line goes out each of the seperate holes
3. slide spool back on and replace cover
