Replaced carb and fuel lines there is a small fitting that looks like a rubber vent with a star likr ring around it. dont know where it goes

As you do not say what machine this is i will give you generic set up,if you have a remote primer, the fuel hose with the fuel filter on in the tank goes to the fuel inlet on the carb the connection nearest to the alluminium pump cover held with a single screw, the other carb conection goes to the longer conection on the back of the primer ( suction side ) the shorter connection on the primer ( pressure side ) takes the fuel back to the tank, if the primer in on the carb itself, the hose with the filter on goes to the connection furthest away from the primer bulb, the other connection goe back to the tank, with both systems the primer pulls fuel from the carb into the bulb and dumps back to the tank

I need a new chain for my Ryobi ECS-2040 Electric Chainsaw. Is there a specific configuration of the links I need to be aware of? The origional chain has been lost so I have no reference point and none of the retail shops I’ve been into list this model as a suitable model. Dont know what type off oil to put in the bar and chain tank on the chainsaw

All Bar oils are SAE 30W non-detergent oil. Go down to the local auto parts supply and buy the cheapest SAE 30W you can find…. SAE 30W is SAE 30W regardless of what brand is on it and for bar oil it is not an issue.

I was using the saw as a chain saw last weekend to cut up an old tree stump when the chain came off. I don’t know how to access it to put it back on and don’t have a user manual. The saw belonged to my late father and I don’t know if he even kept the manual.
ANSWER : You will have to remove the cover on the side the chain bar goes into. There should be one or two nuts holding the cover on the side. The is also a chain tension adjuster you may have to loosen to put it back on. Make note of the direction of the teeth on the chain. It is an directional chain. The tension adjuster is usually a flat head screw on the front side right beside the chain bar.Unless it is a really old saw, manuals are available from most manufacturers for free download. See if you can locate a brand name and model number.
