Be aware of the effects of gravity on the wood you are cutting. Gravity will cause a log to bend when it`s cut, resulting in compression and tension. Compression can lead to binding of the saw and tension can cause the wood to spring out when released.
All you need is some kind of string (dental floss, yarn, ribbon, etc.) or a sturdy rubber band (the thicker the better, so it won`t snap under pressure). Both methods require manipulating the material so that the chain end is pulled towards the wider slot that will make the chain fall out, hence unlocking the door.
When using a chainsaw, you should always start it with the chain brake engaged so the chain does not move.
noun A chain used to lock the wheels of a vehicle by securing the rim to some part which does not rotate; also, a chain which secures to the vehicle a skid-plate on which the wheel rides during a descent.

Husky 435 chain brake is stuck in “locked” position with clutch cover off. How do I release the brake, so the cover will fit over the flywheel?
ANSWER : Hi, grab the cover in a vise in the same place the bar nuts tighten up to. Then pull the chainbrake lever back towards where the handle bar would normally be until it clicks and locks back. This will require a bit of force. Then refit the cover as normal. Hope this helps, regards Phil.
